Reality Check

DIII will be way down next year. Other than Beechwood who will be very strong, Dayton lost everyone, and Calvary lost their top players. Bellevue is still rebuilding. Villa loses their leading scorer, Heritage may not have a team, and Silver Grove lost their coach and may struggle to get a team together. I think with those teams Ludlow can find some wins against their DIII schedule.

Always the same argument posted against small schools. They play the schedule that they are given and they win their games. There are a lot of small schools that play inferior talent and do not get the "W" I don't think BW's schedule was that "tough" this year, but lets not discredit their 20 wins.

Great news for a great kid. I have enjoyed watching Pohlgeers play the past three years for Beechwood. I am sure there are a lot of DIII coaches that are glad to see him go! Best of luck to Jonny on his next step.

I figured Hart was the guy from the start, I think this would be a great hire for Ludlow. He would understand how to handle a small school program, as he showed at Silver Grove.

Bob Schneider is a coaching legend in NKY. Period. I don't care if he didn't schedule Highlands in the later part of his career. That doesn't matter to me nor does it take away from his accomplishments.

Beechwood is a talented team, but a very young team. I think with youth like that you are going to take some lumps every once and a while.

I agree 100%. I remember growing up (which is not that long ago) we would play games with just 4 guys if we had to, two on two with ghost runners and pitchers clutch. The hardest part was finding an open field that you didn't get run off from.

Don't know him personally, I have had a few interactions with him in the past. But I think most people that have had the chance to get to know him would label him a class act. Nice to see him get some recognition for his hard work. Like the article stated, there are stories about great teachers in every school. I think we can all related to these people in way. I hope Mr. Tieman enjoy's retirement.

I agree with the talent it is there and I think the talent has been at Holmes for a long time. The key is keeping them focused, driven, and ready to play. All duties of a head coach. I hope that it works out at Holmes because I agree the future can be bright. It will be interesting the next few years as they transition.

Personally I think it is a wait and see situation. There is a lot of talent at Holmes and they have the potential to be one of the top teams in the region. But a lot of things can happen when you face a coaching change. You have to give a lot of credit for the job that David Henley and his staff did at Holmes. A new coach can come in and keep the momentum going or come in and mess everything up. I think the potential is there but it would be premature to say they will automatically be okay.

My money is on Tim Sullivan. I think he would do great down there.

I just found this article, I had the pleasure of knowing both men and both are great people. This is an awesome story. Peter can bring a lot to the school and the school certainly has meant a lot to Pete. Hats off to Max for keeping him around, I am sure it makes the Colonels better.

I would look for either Tim Sullivan from Cooper or Brad Carr from Scott. I think this will cause a domino effect. You could see quite a few guys moving around.
