Yes, Sayre did appear to be very week, but the shots were falling for them tonight. Boone decided instead of relying on their bigs to take control of the game, they would jack up three's and play into a sloppy style game and ended up with "L". The "euro step" was in full stride tonight. Sayre guards were able to have a track meet through the lane without a dribble. Comical game called by the two man crew from that region.

I would like to see how Dixie handles teams like Eastern, Fern Creek and a few other strong Louisville teams. At the present time, they do seem to have NKY in check.

I bet Sayre shot 80%-90% from the floor, including the 3 point line. Boone came out flat and had unforced turnovers, one after another, not a great game for the Rebels. If they had taken care of the basketball and used the height advantage down low more they would have come out with the win. Need to put this one behind them and get ready for Tuesday.

No need to cry. I'm not hating on the ones who did receive the award, I'm just saying IMO there are several NKY kids who could have been listed also. It's a joke because its more of a popularity possibly by team selection performance before individual. And for your information, I am proud of my kids for their personal efforts and not what some biased selection group thinks. So yes, congrats to those who made the list, but shame for those making the selections. Can you sleep better now?

We've already been through the "who's athletic" debate and it appears to be a personal opinion. IMO just because you're skinny, quick and can jump out the gym it doesn't make you more athletic than big, strong, post player with quick footwork. It's just a different skill-set but still athletic enough for me. I'll take the athletic guy who gets it done close to the basket before the other. JMO.

Each one has the ability to shine and take over a game. There's several factors you need to look at. IMO, no one big mentioned is much better than the other and it depends on who's defending them also.

I agree with you Clyde. The 5 mentioned players could easily vie for the top big man in the region, but they are only going to be as good as the guards that bring the ball up and feed them when they're open. I've watched this group of boys for some years now and can easily say they all work very hard to earn every basket and every rebound. There's no clear cut #1 big man until the regionals final game, and IMO, stats are not so important if you can't help your TEAM advance.

Congratulation to all those selected. I'm not sure of the selection process, but some of these kids I have never heard of or seen on the college recruit circuit. I'm sure they performed very well throughout there season and put up productive numbers, and I am most definitely positive that there are others that could easily be on 1st team, 2nd team and honorable mention as well. Not everyone can be seen by all of the members selecting so how can you really determine this. Some of the names mentioned that has received DI offers should be proud of that accomplishment because it will get them a lot more than a CJ All State team selection. I bet anyone on that 1st team that does not have an offer would trade their spot for a full ride to a DI program.

I hope if these teams have learned anything, it's that none of them can overlook any team, they have to come out with the same intensity every game, you never know who is going to show up on any given game and many of these games have been closer than each of the teams would have liked. Look forward to a great week of basketball.

That was the whole problem with the BCPWFL. They weren't building teams to prepare ALL for the next level. It was all about who could win the next superbowl by playing 11 kids on both sides of the ball pretty much throughout the entire season. The extra 5th quarter was a joke, because it took 5 minutes just to get the thing started and then the kids were left with 5 minutes of running clock for an offensive or defensive set. The parents that are whinning about one district being stronger than another are the same selfish parents that wants little Johnny to be the superstar on a TEAM sport. Ryle and Cooper has a taken a big step in developing football athletes for their high school program success and not for yearly superbowl trophies. BCPWFL went into scramble mode once they learned of Ryle and Cooper starting 5/6 and a 7/8 at Cooper for the 2011 season. I agree that both programs gives an opportunity to play and learn the game, but the high school alignment provides an early start of that brotherhood that the kids will carry throughout high school. BCPWFL should have made their move long before Ryle and Cooper forced their hand.

I think they count them as offensive rebounds actually. Hard for anyone to keep him off the boards even on his own shot.

Is Paul Ritter trying to play at the next level. This kid came a long way in high school ball and I think he can get even better in a college program.

I noticed Holmes has yet to play against any of the "so called Top 10" teams. Brossart and Aiken are good teams, but I want to see them against some of the teams that we consider top in the region.

Oppenheimer was able to attend the Top 26 Awards banquet Wednesday night. He looks to be doing pretty well considering that type of injury. The kid is a warrior and I would not count him out of anything!

Yes, when a team shoots around 85% from the floor and over 50% from the three point line, they are going to win, Boone needed to play more in your face defense. Also, they started out flat, not getting after it from the get go and that caused them to have to play catch up the rest of the game. More balanced scoring from BCHS, I think Downs had 15, Montgomery 12, McQueary 16 and Brown 17. They have to get it done on defense, on offense they had a huge size advantage with Crabtree/Brown, needed to key on it earlier in the game. Hopefully this will give them a spark to refocus on what they need to do to get after it consistently.

If the zone is the best defense for CCH to run against Cooner with their inside size would that not be the smart defense to run until Conner can shoot them out of it? Does CCH run strictly man to man defense?

How does CC matchup with Boone in size? I haven't seen a roster for them for this year.
