Just got the word Cooper is starting a 5/6 and 7/8 team this year ! Great move IMO . Maybe this will get Conner and Boone doing the same .

Anyone have contact information to get games? I think this is a great move for them. Jefferson Co started this year.

Since when has Boone started a middle school program? I have not heard anything about it.

The Boone County Pee Wee Football League has aligned their Junior and Senior teams with the 4 Boone County High Schools. Where you live in Boone County now dictates which team or teams that you can play for. In the Junior Division there are 2 teams for Boone County High, 2 teams for Conner, 1 team for Ryle and 1 team for Cooper. Cooper and Ryle have their own middle school teams that do not play in the BCPWFL. I am not sure how the Senior Division was aligned. I do not know if the schools will have any involvement with their respective BCPWFL teams.

Wrong. No ego checks here. Simply went back to the way it used to be. Check your history. Perhaps it's the parents who need to check their egos. Kudos to the league for this change. I'm sure it will get changed back in a few years once one district starts winning more than another. After all, that's what brought about the changes last time. It only takes one group of unhappy parents.

Either way, one thing is for sure the condition of Boone Co. football has taken great steps in the last few years with the large success of both Ryle and Cooper. Those two have definately made a statement. Not to mention the success Cooner had just a few years ago and have tried to maintain. Great junior league programs usually yield great high school programs.

Not saying all the coaches at BCPWFL are bad, but I just think it will be better for the kids not having little Johny's dad coaching !!

They will not play any BCPWFL teams. Why does Cooper want one team of forty feeding its high school? Conner and Boone will have two teams with about 25 feeding their school.

 

The senior teams in the league have zero dad head coaches and very few dads as assistants. Now look at Cooper and Ryle they are all dad coaches.

I would love to hear about all the "great success" that Cooper has had .... not to knock it .. but they haven't even been around long enough to have "great success". Pretty sure that they still haven't won a district game?

That was the whole problem with the BCPWFL. They weren't building teams to prepare ALL for the next level. It was all about who could win the next superbowl by playing 11 kids on both sides of the ball pretty much throughout the entire season. The extra 5th quarter was a joke, because it took 5 minutes just to get the thing started and then the kids were left with 5 minutes of running clock for an offensive or defensive set. The parents that are whinning about one district being stronger than another are the same selfish parents that wants little Johnny to be the superstar on a TEAM sport. Ryle and Cooper has a taken a big step in developing football athletes for their high school program success and not for yearly superbowl trophies. BCPWFL went into scramble mode once they learned of Ryle and Cooper starting 5/6 and a 7/8 at Cooper for the 2011 season. I agree that both programs gives an opportunity to play and learn the game, but the high school alignment provides an early start of that brotherhood that the kids will carry throughout high school. BCPWFL should have made their move long before Ryle and Cooper forced their hand.
