Considering this is a "preseason guess" as to who the top 10 players are, Bradley could be in or out as well as a few other 9th region players.

As many of us are not expecting a win from Boone. I can gurantee you that there will be Rebel football players on the field continuing to give a 110% effort to do their best in spite of the fact that the head coach will not make the proper adjustments to offer a better game plan. I won't count any team out until the game is played regardless of what happened last week or how they're ranked. SK is a good team, but the word "upset" was created for a reason. Play The Game!!!!!

For whatever reason Boone still can only find that BIG Tight End once a game, but can find one back 35 times. Good win for the team, but play calling still needs some serious adjusting to even think about a win against their next three opponents! Spread the ball around and force the defense to key on more than one person.

That's the point, you're not a doc. Let the physician (whom I'm pretty sure has some intelligence) determine whether Travis is healthy enough to play or not and don't publicly blaspheme individuals involved in the decision. I'd like to think every measure has been considered in this decision and not just a win or loss to the Ryle program. If Travis does indeed play I wish him as well as all the other high school players across the board " A Safe Friday Night"!

There was sarcasm in that statement, so lighten up. Neither team has a great defense, so the team that scores the quickest on theur drives will probably win. Boone's theory of 3 yards and a cloud of dust for an 8+ minute drive usually won't win many football game these days.

The team with the most run plays will be in the "L" column again!

Are you related to UKFan#1? I'm glad you stick by your perception of Thompson, but if you attend the games and sit in the stands or even stand around groups you will hear a completely different story. But you can continue to live in your illusion of Thompson being the best option for QB if that makes you happy it doesn't matter to me. Since you seem to be so close to the Thompson's, go over and watch the past game films with them and you can count the open receivers that he has missed and compare the yards gained to yards sacked from a scramble. I have nothing against the kid or his family, so no need to defend the family in that matter. It's plain as day that they need to make a change to most people so this is a dead horse.

I have had a few chances to watch all three QB's and it's not just my opinion alone that the other two provide a better run/pass threat and can catually locate their receivers in progression. If you watch the offense close enough, you will see that when he scrambles, he goes east or west and usually gets run down. His big runs come mainly on the QB draw, not when he's scrambling. If it's your opinion that Thompson is the best QB and you have a soph or junior kid in the program you're in for a long ride to nowhere. Thompson as an athlete can play many other positions on the field, but qb is not one of them IMO. A QB normally steps up in the pocket finds the open lane and can get up field north/ south. Your description of his strength and power runnung is for a fullback or guard. It doesn't really matter because it looks like Coach Thompson is going to stick with his QB decision just as he is sticking with his offensive mindset. It's just sad for the seniors that hoped to have a successful year and possibly get some good recognition from a winning program. Not to say the other qb's will gurantee a win, but IMO either one could make a difference in the offense, and begin to develope for the next two years they have with Boone. I think Boone lost a fairly decent athlete\receiver to the Ryle program because of the qb drama. How many kids can you run away?

Teams know that Boone is strictly run run run, I don't know many high school or college offensive lines that can win a battle with 8 or 9 in the box. The Rebels forced Scott County linebackers to back off by completing a few short underneath pass routes, and then the Oline was able to control the trench.

There's two that deserve a shot regardless of class. They seem to be QB athletic type players, and one has thrown some very nice passes from a reverse play that Boone runs, and the other looked fairly well in JV competition but the decision to replace is completely up to coach Thompson. If Boone is going to remain a strictly run team, the the younger Thompson is fine at QB and Boone will continue to go downhill not because of him, but because of the system they continue to believe is effective. Bottom line for younger kids in the Rebels district, if you're an aspiring receiver or throwing QB, stay away from Boone County or plan to spend a lot of time at exposure camps to get yourself noticed until that system gets with the ages. I know high school is more than the sporting programs so maybe it's not that serious as we see it.

They have to get open, catch the ball and hold on to it." One fumble doesn't win or loose that game. You continue to try to get him the ball unless you're the dumbest coordinator in the state. Thompson threw interceptions and failed to locate receivers, does Boone take the ball out of his hands? The running backs have fumbled numerous times, but Boone continues to run them 90% of the time. Have some common sense and realize what talent you have on the field regardless of one fumble that was due to fighting for extra yards and not protecting the ball. I'd hit that kid 10 plus times every game just to watch him punish and drag the little db's down the field. Brown is set for a nice future with Miami of Ohio, so I hope he doesn't let this get him too frustrated. I know the kid and he will bounce back from this ONE fumble; the question is, will the offensive coordinator realize what he has as a weapon. Probably not! The losses aren't being blamed on the kid (Thompson), it's the staff for not realizing he's out of position. From what I understand the players are continuing to support him which is good, but let's be realistic on what's going on there!

The line gives Thompson enough time to complete passes. He simply can't progress through reads because he can't see downfield well enough, and his ability to scramble is not the best either. Thompson is not a throwing QB, but then again Boone is not a throwing team. Last night receivers were wide open and the passes were not being thrown. Thompson has got the biggest target in NKY with a nice set of hands, and he can't see when he's wide open on the field. IMO the Rebels football program is in some serious trouble until some changes are made.

FYI, Brown was the 6th or 7th man off the bench for Boone. I'm not sure, but are the others in comparison starters? I would imagine that Brown will be a starter this upcoming season and those numbers will increase with increased time on the court. To say Brown was the least effective due to numbers is a personal opinion, because you're not really comparing apples to apples. Combine position, minutes played, win vs losses with each individuals percentage time on the court, and then post your statistics. To me, what makes a player complete is a player that contributes to a team and gets the wins and not his individual stats.

I am speaking from what I have noticed. On the player level, this past summer I attended several college skill and technique camps and noticed at a majority of them there was always a HH Bluebird attending the camp to make themselves better. I rarely saw more than one BC player at any of theses camps. Simply pumping iron is not going to make you a completely better football player. I think many of the BC players have the ability to be just as good athletes but they have to go the extra step on their own to do so. There's no doubt that the BC players are all team players and play hard anything different was never mentioned, but some of them are playing out of position and that's the coaching staff's problem. As a whole, the BC program is not on the level HH. Switch the coaching staff around between the two programs and give it a couple of years and I bet we would see a different picture coming out of BC. The entire staff at Boone is not bad, but it needs some adjusting.

The CCH guards struggled getting Thelen the ball sometimes last year. He is a great player, but, if they can't get the ball in his hands, they won't win.

I have not seen or heard much of the Camels this year, but if they can put 9 in the box and stop the Boone run game, then it should be a decent game that they can possibly win. We just have to wait and see which game plan the Rebels will use, and that may depend on whether or not QB Thompson is healthy. I think he left the game early against Highlands with what seemed to be a lower back injury. I would like to see Schwartz scramble; threat to run; and hit the receivers that have been open down field in the last few games. We'll just have to wait and see, but regardless of how boring the Rebels offense is on Friday night, I'm sure that annoying announcer and loudspeaker system will keep us all live and awake! Gotta Love Friday Nights!

It doesn't help that the QB has to do a 12 step drop just to be able to see down field when they do attempt their one or two passes.

The game tonight from the Rebels was flat out disgusting! The kids have the will and the want to, but the game plan is for the 80's. Any half decent coaching staff will know what Boone does and can probably stop it with ease. The defense is getting over worked because the offense is simply at a stand still. What I really don't understand is how the offensive coordinator continues to ignore a 6'4 270 pound tight end. If you can't find ways to get the ball in his hands, then seek help to do so because it's a waist of productive talent. The offensive line can't block more than what's coming at them so you can't blame the Oline for lack of scoring. I honestly think Boone has more punts than pass attempts, and if that's acceptable then that program is in some serious trouble. Boone is not on a HH level (player and coaches combined), but they can make a better showing than what was displayed tonight. Highlands pretty much did what they wanted to on both sides of the ball tonight and completely controlled all 4 quarters, even with the subs. As good as HH looked, I still don't think they're at last years level at this time, but they are still very good and will be for years to come.

Highlands might want to thrown on some horseshoes for this one, Boone's field is like a horse racetrack. This might slow the speed down a bit, which would favor Boone enough to at least make it a competitive game.

Boone has a chance if they can keep Towles off the field by controlling the LOS and TOP. The defense is playing much better this year, but the coaches can't rely on the defense to score the points. The offense has to get something going early or this will be another night of 3 and outs with a 98% run game that has problems crossing over the 50 yard line.

If you have not seen Trevan Brown from Boone County, you are missing one of the the better linemen in Ky. He has been overpowering D-linemen across from him and making some nasty downfield blocks. Even though he's labeled as a tight end, with the Rebels, that's nothing more than a glorified name for an extra offensive tackle. Chris Fookes with the Rebels, is another offensive linemen that is performing very well and should not be overlooked also.

The difference is that T and X usually have more depth than your average NKY public school system. With the expansion of High Schools spreading the talent in the NKY area, teams are limited with highly skilled players. I would like to see an NKY High School All Star team put together to face the likes of a T or X.

Apparently you didn't follow all of the teams well enough to honestly say who contributed big time on fairly decent teams. Brown from boone was either tied or second on the team as the leading scorer, in the top 3 for rebounds as well and he played probably 50% of the time as the starters received. The kid is a massive body in the paint at an athletic 265 and will be hard to control in the paint. But as usual, we have to let the kids play and see who shows up! I do think this will be the year for the Big men throughout the region.
