Freshman NKY Football
Beechwood did play against CovCath with McGinnis 100%, at least in the beginning, he got banged up by a spirited Beechwood defense as the game went on.

Campbell County/Simon Kenton Predictions
This game used to produce some fabulous football, I haven't seen CC this year, but looks as though they have been in a tough stretch. I don't look for that to change this week, SK will win big. SK 42 - CC14

Lloyd @ Newport Central Catholic Predictions
I'm a Juggs fan, but cant say they are going to win this game. Hope that they prove me wrong. NewCath 28 - Lloyd 21

Beechwood wins, the final score will not be indicative of how good a game it will be. Beechwood pulls away late.....49-21

Beechwood QB Kyle Fieger - Best Ever at Beechwood?
That is funny and true, funny how time makes everything seem better.

Best "White Hat" In Your Area
I agree, Steve works great with the coaches and the players, have never seen a game he was the white hat, get out of control. There are a couple of other guys in NKY that do a good job, but Steve gets my vote hands down.

Beechwood 14 Covington Catholic 12 (Frosh)
I would agree that this years BW freshmen team doesn't have any of the big 4, with the exception of Castleman. But I think there may be a couple of these freshmen lineman who might contribute to next years varsity. Two that come to mind are #65 Derry and #71 Baugh. Of course that is just speculation on my part.

Beechwood QB Kyle Fieger - Best Ever at Beechwood?
Good question VOR, he is definitely in the conversation. Hergott, Wilmhoff, Wera are some other names that belong in the conversation, and others that I am sure I am not thinking of. In looking at the stats posted, he only has 4 interceptions for his varsity career? May be accurate, but I remember him throwing 2 against Mayfield in last years semi state game, also thought he had one against Dixie, but my memory is starting to fail me. Kid can sling it, no doubt.

Yes he was

Campbell County 27 Ryle 12 (Frosh)
I saw this group of CC Freshmen play in middle school last year, they were huge! Not sure if Ryle is undersized as I have not seen them play, but their must be something in the water around Alexandria, they grow them big out there.

1A - Who will end up #1?
I guess my feeling is that it truly doesn't matter who is ranked #1 at this stage of the game. The only time it matters is when the final horn blows in Bowling Green, then we will know who the true #1 is. I like Beechwood, but Paintsville will be battle tested if they get there.

Lloyd Memorial vs Newport
Juggs roll, running clock early in the 3rd quarter

Dixie Heights @ Highlands
This is based on gut feeling, Highlands wins by 21

Excessive Blocking
Officials have been enforcing blocks away from the play for the past several years and I am completely ok with protecting a kid from a peel back block 20 yards behind a play, but when you are blocking in the middle of the field...you never know when and where the back may cut or reverse field, seems a little to subjective to me.

1A #10 Bishop Brossart at Bracken County Predictions
Polar Bears by 7

Ryle vs Cooper Predictions
should be a heck of a game, I don't have a dog in the fight, but am going to go out on a limb and pick Cooper to win by 3.

1A #1 Beechwood at Bellevue Predictions
I personally like the prediction threads, even on games that on the surface will not be close. Keep up the good work, cant make everyone happy.

Beechwood's Noel Rash Wins #100
Congrats to coach Rash on a job well done.

Covington Holy Cross vs Newport Central Catholic
While I think HC is much improved this season, I have to believe NewCath wins this one by 14+.

Unique Venues and Atmospheres in Kentucky
One of my favorites is the stadium at Ludlow, tucked into a neighborhood and along the river, it is an environment that takes me back a lot of years.

Beechwood 69 Newport 24
All I can say is #75 is huge, and I cant remember the other lineman's number, #56 maybe, he was huge and a darn nice player as well. Those kids need to keep their head up, better days will come if they buy into the program. I will say that if those kids buy into the option offense and stay disciplined, they will give DC in NKY a fit trying to defend it. Newport has the athletes to run that type of offense to perfection. I look forward to seeing how they progress next year.

Things that you can do without that is part of the game as a fan
