It really was 27 to 6 and Ryle scored on about a 80 run on the last play of the game.

 

Campbell looked much better tonight, they are still undisciplined but their QB is a player (both running and throwing) and Campbell has a lot of nice skilled kids that stepped up tonight. Campbell threw the ball really well for a Freshman team. Ryle's only TD (other than mentioned above) came on a punt return. I wouldn't call the game domination by Campbell but whatever the next word down is describes the game.

 

Ryle does have a couple of nice skill players and they had a DT #27 making a lot of plays. However, I have no clue what Ryle was doing on defense. There were several times Ryle put all 11 defenders in the box (other than the press corners that were up on the line of scrimmage) so Ryle had no deep help and Campbell continually threw deep with success. On the plus side it appeared Ryle was nearly two-platooning which is great to get a lot of kids involved. Overall I thought Ryle's team looked undersized for a 6A Frosh team.

 

The entertainment of the night was numerous Campbell County parents launching profane verbal attacks aimed at one Ryle fan that was walking the length of the field but behind the fence. There was a big hit (which I think was made by Ryle fans son) where a Campbell player ended up being injured and the Campbell fans interpreted that as the Ryle parent gloating about the injured player and several of the Campbell parents were verbally abusive including several words that would not pass the word filter here at BGP.

I think Ryle threw 4 INT's. CC has made some defensive adjustments with their pass coverage and that is really helping. They also now have their best DT playing. He missed most of the year with an injury and has already bolstered the line. This team is trending up and may be on the path to reaching their potential. They had 2 key injuries tonight that may be season ending for both boys. I hope they are ok and heal quickly.

It got nasty but I didn't know what was said. All parties involved were pretty vocal for sure. Not picking on the Ryle guy, but he was wearing a Browns shirt. Just saying. :idunno:

I was there. Ryle was undersized. They had an eye opener game. Campbell had a great plan and executed it well. I just hope the Q.B for Campbell is ok. I am pretty sure he broke his clavicle. It was a clean hit by the linebacker. That is when all the verbal extra complaints started. CC did look a lot bigger than Ryle.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. We have established that CC is large. My question is whether Ryle is undersized or did they just look small next to CC. How does Ryle look compared to the other teams they have played? How do they look size-wise compared to the Beechwoods, Highlands, and Cov Caths, etc?

I only saw the first half, CC pretty much dominated.

For those that saw both, what changed since the first game in which Ryle won easily?

I saw this group of CC Freshmen play in middle school last year, they were huge! Not sure if Ryle is undersized as I have not seen them play, but their must be something in the water around Alexandria, they grow them big out there.

Ryle didn't win easily in the first game. Ryle won by one score and CC had 3 shots at the end zone at the end of the game but couldn't convert. That was also the first game for both teams, so a lot can change over a season. Maybe Ryle had a bad game last night. I heard that was their first loss. Who are the teams that they have beaten this year?
