Congrats Colonels! I guess it was a quick reload for Christian County after graduating Bubba Tandy & Anthony Hickey. Are they better this year than last?

Officiating, though poor, was not a factor in the outcome of this game. Congrats to Warren Central - a fine looking football team! Should be very interesting in the west for 5A as Warren Central, Christian County & Bowling Green sort things out in the playoffs.

The old FalconBacker is loyal to his team but this was an embarrassing disaster! Coach Berner should make this unworthy group pull the FC stickers off their helmets & for the foreseeable future they should wear practice jerseys for the games! No excuses!

I believe this is only the 3rd year of football for West Creek as they are a brand new High School in Clarksville, TN. I agree with FC as I too watched them scrimmage Madisonville. Franklin - Simpson should easily win this game.

This should be a good game. FC can win this game, the only way the Falcons lose is if they beat themselves - which has already happened once this season. FC can't give up a pick, like they have in each of the two previous games, and allow the D to return it inside the 5 setting up a TD. FC can't take points off the board for undisciplined penalties as they have in the two previous games. If FC plays this game like the two previous games, Warren Central will win. Should FC show up and play disciplined Falcon football, they will leave BG with a victory. FC 28 WC 21

Nice to get a win. Need to work hard this week in practice getting ready for Warren Central in BG. The first quality opponent for the Falcons. Still lots to work on - Discipline. We must have had at least four TDs called back and points taken off the board due to mind-numbing penalties. The Falcons will need to play near perfect football next week.

I believe this. No longer having the Fultons on the shedule and adding PT and Madisonville is a big improvement for the Rockets. If the Rockets roll into Cadiz and thump Trigg - you won't hear many more comments about the what happened with the past scheduling assumptions from years gone by.

Christian County by a couple of scores. All they have to do is not turn the ball over & contain the Clarksville QB. I might go see this one - cheering for the Colonels.

Falcons take this one. It will be nice to go to a new stadium for a game - have driven past the Russellville stadium for years, but have never been there for a game. The Falcons are only limited by themselves, superb athletes and one of the top coaches in the state. Will they show up and play a full game of disciplined football? That is the question.

FC up 14 - 0 & both teams made a decision: FC decided to pack it in for the night & Clarksville did a gut check and decided to continiue to play football. This game was one that FC should have easily closed out. FC reverted to their method of operation from last season & and we all experienced a deja vu moment and it seemed like it we were back in the 2010 season. Clarksville is not even a top-tier opponent for FC, (Warren Central, Christian County & Paducah Tilghman). Hope this gets corrected immediately - Warren Central on 2 September.

I am surprised. Watched both schools over the summer & thought Madisonville was the better team. Christian County always has the players, just didn't think they would be playing dominate football in week 1.

I believe a 14 point win, on the road, 1A against 5A, first game of the season - is nothing but a quality win!! Good job Mayfield.

That is exactly how I feel!! I have zero doubt that Trinity will win this one big!

Madisonville - North Hopkins 28 Christian County 17 The Colonels no longer have Bubba Tandy to pull them out of a jam & Anthony Hickey is getting ready to play basketball for LSU. Coach Weaver has the players to make a solid run in 4A this year with Madisonville and they should be able to get the first win of the season against CC.

Aaron Hills scored a TD receiving in the scrimmage. Coach Berner has Hills playing in several different positions in the offense. He is still the best athelete on the field with Marcus Tucker a close second. Having Marcus Pratt as a dominate RB really helps open the passing game for our freshman QB. Hills also anchors the defensive backfield at free safety.

Coach Weaver has a very good team this season. I have watched them at the FC football camp, Vandy 7 on 7 & the Border Wars and have been impressed with their skill players. They can completely lock down an opponents passing game with the DB talent they have. Look for them to make some noise in 4A.
