  1. SK's offensive speed consists of one player...a very good player at that. SK should win by 2 scores but if for some reason Lawrence were to leave the game, when it is still competitive, I believe the Camels have a great shot of stealing a game on the road.
  2. What a joke. First, it's flat out unbelievable that they would not create a 5 team district and add SK. Second, SK is hilarious for actually submitting the mileage difference. As said before, embrace your new district...you may finally receive some competition within your district.
  3. I am shocked how much the personal business of a 16 year old kid is public knowledge. Thats great that the kid is playing, no one should question his or his family's decision.
  4. The ones that stand out the most, are the individuals who transfer midway through their HS careers. The only one who had been accused of transferring illegally was Mitchell and that is still being fought to this day. I don't have much of a problem with the kids "transferring" to Highlands out of their respective PeeWee system; such as many players out of the NKYFL that moved to Ft. Thomas, allegedly, to play football. The parents of these boys want a winning experience for their sons. But I would say more than 15% of Highlands team is not home grown, and by that I mean went to a Ft. Thomas Middle School in 6th-8th grade. People don't happen to move to Ft. Thomas with 14 year old boys...
  5. :laugh::laugh: NKUfan is having some diff-i-culty
  6. Nice job Dixie! I didnt think you had it in ya..
  7. Whoh, whoh, whoh...All i hear is how great the WR's are week in week out. Sure, none of them are as good as Smith or others who played during that time, nor does that stop Bluebird fans from comparing someone who is good to some of their former greats. Towles doesn't want to weigh 240, then why does everyone always brag about him weighing 230? You have to remember, when Lorenzen was getting it done, there was more parity in the district. Lorenzen was great because of what he was able to do against all competition and his display of skills. You may want to compare him to the third best Bluebird signal caller because he does not touch the top two :thumb:
  8. This would never happen. Most parents would send their children to Ryle. Ryle has exceeded the other Boone Co. schools in academics and has had far more recent success in athletics...not to mention the facility. The enrollment would not be equal and it would create a difficult scenario. The only problem with 6A is that it exists. The solution would be a super class and let the best and biggest play the best and biggest. Highlands, Bowling Green, Bell Co...give all of them the chance to play against T and X, every year.
  9. You can compare them, sure....they both play QB, they both play for Highlands. If Towles ends up being close to as good as Lorenzen, you have no idea what you have on your hands. Unless he decides to change his number to #22 and stiff arm linemen as he throws the ball deep for a TD, he won't be close...IMHO.
  10. You should know...your's is gonna burst soon enough!:laugh:
  11. Conner just graduated a strong senior class and a really good quarterback. If you don't recall, they went 2-8 just three years ago (West started Qb as a Soph). Nothing wrong with Conner, thats just how they roll...
  12. Vince Murray and before him Shaun. But I bet you don't think they are any good because the Rocks shut them down in the finals. How many Trinity RB's are starting D1 RB? Lawrence is very good HS 6A Quarterback. To be clear, I think the word great is overused as well.
  13. It shows? Would you like to explain yourself? How do you equate success from the JV level, Wins? If Ryle has not been developing players, how have they been successful under the current regime? I hate to ask so many questions but i am not certain this is an accurate statement. I also hate to badger a RYLE fan but I feel you are misinformed.
  14. Are you seriously +18? seriously? huh
  15. Other than tackles, because that doesnt really prove anything, what kind of stats is the D putting up this year? INTs, FR, Yards/GM, PTS/GM? Just suspicious of the claim of greatness...
  16. I think they were a great team last year and if they had drew Trinity in the 3 round (instead of X), SK would have won. However, they aren't even close to the team they were a year ago. They are probably a little more like their team from 08', the team which made the finals with a weaker draw....they aren't making a run this year, not without thier ticket.
  17. I'm not sure if Thompson and the staff missed the bus, they would know how to do anything differently. With that being said, run run run....should be more than enough to beat the Camels.
  18. Really? I agree with most of this but if Boone out coaches CCHS's staff, I am interested in which phase this might occur....
  19. Outside of Highlands, Ryle has given up 7 to Cov Cath, 7 to NCC, and 7 to Dixie. I'll say 49-7 Ryle.
  20. Since the original question posted by the Guru was "Is SK dead in the water?", i will attempt to contribute something positive to this thread, as you requested. Theoretically SK has potential to reach the State semis and face T or X. But as 95% of all posters have said that "No 6A school" can compete with T and X, isn't everyone "dead in the water"? I think this statement is close to being true but because of schools like Nelson Co winning the 4A state championship and Dixie knocking off T a few years back, public schools have to have hope that they can be the next David. Since Football has been relevant in the state of Kentucky, Highlands/Cov Cath and BG have dominated 3A to 5A (with a couple other schools sparsely competing for the title and excluding Boyle Co.) and St. X and T has dominated 4A to 6A (with 3 public schools winning since 1991, i think). So, by the numbers....every team not previously mentioned is "dead in the water". But that is why they play the game! SK is moving in the right direction but it is ludacris to think that they will duplicate the 2008-2009 run and ever match Highlands tradition. Miles Simpson is gone and he is never coming back. The only school that will bring Highlands downward to SK's and NKY's level is Covington Catholic, for they are their biggest competition within their class. If you were to rank the best schools in NKY over the past 10 years, SK would not even break the top 6 or 7. Without writing an essay, lol, SK is not "dead in the water" but please don't act surprised if they sink...and sink fast.
  21. Speaking of using spell check, this is a run-on sentence....Take a breath, use a period, or something.
  22. I seriously thought you were joking when you said you were an adult...I'm sure your boy is proud!
  23. Any more info on the game, not the state of affairs at Cooper and Lloyd HS???
  24. I love the fact that you started the thread and you proceed to make all but one of the comments on the game...I think all of BGPers should boycott your antics and allow you to continue to reply to yourself in this thread:thumb: Who is with me:walk::walk:
