  1. If we're talking most dominant rb in high school, it has to be Sean. After him you have a long list of great backs.
  2. You're right...but it was still a penalty and it is extremely dangerous on that sideline.
  3. Listen to yourself here...If the Cop and cheerleaders were two yards out, Highlands football stadium needs to be shut down. There is a three yard box from the sideline, where nobody can stand. So you are implying that the cop and cheerleaders were in the "box"? No, the fact is that the Ryle player was hit once he was already out of bounds and then both players rolled and tumbled towards the bleachers, knocking out people like bowling pins.
  4. He was about 2 yards out of bounds...you did not have a good vantage point.
  5. There is so much speculation about what is happening to the football program in Union. I certainly hope kids don't read the ridiculous statements made by raiderbird and Clyde. Ryle went in the game and played hard with able bodies. Obviously they were not able to compete very well tonight. Ryle, not counting kickers, had 12 seniors this season...2 of which are out for the year...another 2 were in street clothes. Their numbers will be back up in the future and I assure you, you will take more than your foot out of your mouth. Now on to GRC.
  6. Highlands just got by a 2-6 Elder team. You now think they deserve national consideration?? Highlands is a great program in the state of KY. Did you see what happened in the scrimmage against T this season? They are not on their level. If Highlands had scheduled and beat Cincy X or Moeller or Colerain, I may feel differently. But based on this seasons schedule, the national recognition will not come. IMO
  7. Ryle starters which are healthy will play. All of you have incorrect information. My source says, injured players may not play...because they are injured.
  8. You know what happens when you "assume?" Double standards exist for Boone Co HS within the Boone County School system. The board favors them for many athletically motivated decisions. Still waiting for the next Shaun Alexander, I "assume".
  9. Do you mean a schudule like Highland's? I'm not saying either. He is a very good player but unless he puts up those numbers against teams of merit, it's just not going to happen. I'm sure there has been plenty of players from NCC or Beechwood in the past who were "deserving" but its just not gonna happen. Maybe they should give the Heisman to a player from the Sun Belt conference.....
  10. If you pay attention to the box scores, Dixie has been able to score early...but not in the second half. I think they score enough early. I'm predicting 28-20
  11. There's a thread every year about running the score up and the Birds are usually involved. I remember when they beat Holmes a couple years ago and they were throwing the rock in the fourth up 50+, people rationalized that... If they didn't throw in the second half tonight, I don't believe what they did to PC was too, too bad. That was expected, for the most part. Its hard to give up 70 points in a half...I would assume PC did not make an effort towards damage control this evening. The HC has to do everything in their power to move the game along in that situation. I'm interested in the Birds vs Elder matchup.
  12. SK. Last year NCC was the 5th best team in NKY, IMHO. They are a very good small school program. Highlands would gain nothing from beating them. IF, NCC were to beat them...it would be a bad loss for Highlands
  13. Boone should def play Dixie. Then I say Dixie v Highlands rematch..
  14. I think the creator of these polls happens to be biast...my guess, is towards teams he has not seen. I believe three NKY Schools would beat the bottom 7, with exception to St. X. Dixie loses to three teams, 1st, 2nd, and 1st in their respective polls (although they lost to HHS badly). Ryle loses to two perennial powerhouses in Ohio. Boone loses two close games to Dixie and CCH. All of the teams named, not in 6A, are better than the ones ranked 4-10 (w/ the exception of St. X). But what do rankings mean?
  15. Nothing could of changed the outcome of Friday's game in Independence. It was closer than it should have been.
  16. I do agree with HC decision making, it really lacks in Independence. But SK has some nice athletes and should beat Campbell easily....can they beat Boone is the question. However, they do have a long way to go. They most certainly are not SK of old....although Ryle should have thumped them last night.
  17. By my count, 6A is a toss up. 3 teams in it...not yours.
  18. How many white russians did you have last night???
  19. Ryle will return to NKY play and feel like the game has slowed down a bit. They will get their first W without Elliott.
  20. There is no reason to throw former players names out here but it is the truth, you should not deny it. Football in NKY is second best in the state, as a whole. There are a few communities in NKY which put together programs that cannot compete but at the same time, have very low expectations when competing; based on their population, economic level, and history of poor academics. But can somebody please start a thread, why can't public schools in Louisville ever compete with T and X? I will bet any amount of money that Manual, Male, Seneca, and Ballard have greater athletes walking their halls than any NKY 6A program. How come they can't get it done? the end.
  21. I bet you never questioned the football players parent's intent, while they were playing football....When it comes to HHS, education is #1; unless you play football.
  22. I never thought this thread would move towards the private v. public debate but you are completely wrong. Bringing in the the Louisville publics is a mistake. If they are ever as good or can compete with the two main Louisville powers, bravo!! To answer the question to the thread: NKY 6A will always be equal to Louisville 6A; outside of T and X. There may be years where Louisville will sweep the district. There may be several years in a row where NKY wins 3/4. I would say top to bottom, Louisville is better...year in year out. But NKY is better than Lexington 6A and WKY 6A. It's no secret the best big school football comes from the biggest school district in the state. But if there was a super class....put Highlands in their with them. They seem to be worried about national titles, not state titles. I'm sure they wouldn't mind if they were forgotten in the 4A playoffs.
