I've read plenty of TOG's posts as well and he is their biggest cheerleader. It's moot, unless Ryle beats Highlands at the end of the year and CCHS is still ahead of Ryle. But who cares at this point...

Because it's a Coach's Poll. If coaches feel that Cov is better than Ryle, at this point, then it is warranted. No one ever questions how some teams sneak in a dirty first place vote, do they?? People know the truth, let the poll say what it wants.

Did you really ask who would win the scrimmage?? Uh.... No way Sk has enough to compete with Louisville schools, any longer. If it were an actual game and they were keeping score, X would dominate. But since its not, X will dominate....

Conner was awful during West's soph season. I do believe their passing game will be much more efficient in NKY 5A vs. NKY 6A. I am not sure how deep they would go in the playoffs but i think he will put up large numbers. They would probably finish fourth if they were still in 6A. NKY QB's: 1.Towles 2.Pike 3.Barker- not sure about anyone else being remotely close as far as numbers go.

They may not be playing the competition as Highlands and Dixie are but the soph from Conner will put up ridiculous numbers this year. With that kind of arm, i don't think Trosper is going to think about running the football. I will say he is the solid #3.

I did say usually...but no. They typically do not because you only put 5 people on the court. They do not dominate track, swimming, or wrestling either; those are individual sports. I should have said, in Kentucky, tuition paying schools typically dominate team sports, not named basketball.

I'd say both have an advantage. The larger metro areas will typically have stronger programs, especially if their region includes private schools and/or open enrollment. Rural schools can have the closer communities, which wont make the draw of athletes better but can make the tradition and commitment deeper. So i feel they both can have success. But tuition paying schools usually dominate all sports.

I just think it is way too early to determine the amount of talent a team will have, until the product is put on the field. I am in no way predicting an upset over Colerain, but there is still a ton of talent in Union and i suppose those in Independence and "raderbird" land are unaware of it. Colerain will be incredibly tough to compete with but Ryle is accepting the challenge.

What does anyone know about what Ryle has coming back, other than Elliott? Sure, at first glance most would say blowout. But what if Ryle can put a better team on the field than their '10 team. Does that change anything??

Yes he did. He also played offense. I believe they even ran a make-shift wildcat package with him.

His sophomore year, he shared the backfield with Connor Hempel, Travis Elliot, and Kiefer Eubank. I believe this was a very down year for Ryle, senior talent wise (especially the line) and he chose to leave. His family felt it was best to move to Elder for multiple reasons I imagine. You don't go from free public education to whatever Elder cost, for just football.

Isn't that the goal of every program throughout the state? When you go 12-2, it is difficult to replace some players who have graduated but a good program must do so. I think people will be surprised the type of players Ryle will put on the field next season. They lost a lot but they've got guys working every day (just as every other school), to step up and be the next big player at Ryle. I wouldn't worry if I were you.

First thought is....wow, where is the NKY representation? They clearly represent themselves well in the state finals and in the playoffs. They were also voted to many other All-State polls. The three that made the list (as well as all others I'm sure) are very deserving.
