Austin Baldwin is missing.

First thought is....wow, where is the NKY representation? They clearly represent themselves well in the state finals and in the playoffs. They were also voted to many other All-State polls. The three that made the list (as well as all others I'm sure) are very deserving.

If you are talking about athletes that influence every aspect of the game under the athlete section, then Deion Mullins from Ryle would fit under that category as well as anyone I have ever seen.

No Zeke Pike? No Patrick Towels? One or both could have been included in "athletes". I guess both were left off to avoid controversy.:sssh:

It's a conspiracy of course.

Who would you remove and replace them with?

In the athletes section I'd remove anyone except Marcoryeon Tandy and Jalen Harrington and put both Pike and Towels in there.

Did Towles play anywhere besides QB? Don't really know but thought someone could answer for me.

This may be the first time BGP has been criticized for having too few NKY players on the All BGP Team

They want their cake and eat it too.

Just what the heck good is having cake if you don't get to eat it? I know you're just repeating the phrase, but if you think about it, the phrase makes no sense.

Just what the heck good is having cake if you don't get to eat it? I know you're just repeating the phrase, but if you think about it, the phrase makes no sense.

The phrase's earliest recording is from 1546 as "wolde you bothe eate your cake, and have your cake?" (John Heywood's 'A dialogue Conteinyng the Nomber in Effect of All the Prouerbes in the Englishe Tongue') alluding to the impossibility of eating your cake and still having it afterwards; the modern version (where the clauses are reversed) is a corruption which was first signaled in 1812. Further misconception has been perpetuated in main-stream media by Douglas Pace during his argument that it is in fact the order of the eating and having which matters, similar to the chicken and the egg conundrum.

Paul Brians, Professor of English at Washington State University, points out that perhaps a more logical or easier to understand version of this saying is: “You can’t eat your cake and have it too”. Professor Brians writes that a common source of confusion about this idiom stems from the verb to have which in this case indicates that once eaten, keeping possession of the cake is no longer possible, seeing that it is in your stomach (and no longer exists as a cake). Alternatively, the two verbs can be understood to represent a sequence of actions, so one can indeed "have" one's cake and then "eat" it. Consequently, the literal meaning of the reversed idiom doesn't match the metaphorical meaning. The phrase can also have specialized meaning in academic contexts; Classicist Katharina Volk of Columbia University has used the phrase to describe the development of poetic imagery in Latin didactic poetry, naming the principle behind the imagery's adoption and application the "have-one's-cake-and-eat-it-too principle".

That should clear it up. :D

Back to the discussion of the All BGP team. :D

J.J. Jude, Johnson Central, guess the coach leaving him in and letting him run up stats in blowouts really does payoff

They want their cake and eat it too.

Not really, we'd just like a larger piece of the cake. I too am a bit surprised that NKY has so few to make the list. Just as with the AP and the "other one", some may consider this list a joke or a slap in the face. Once again it's the voters decision, and that should not take away from the efforts of the many players that are just as good if not better than the players selected. My suggestion is to just start putting names in a hat that qualify for the list and let luck have at it because these "honorable" teams will never be fairly and accurately selected. The hat trick is complete.

I don't know which lineman you'd remove, but with the way NCC's offense moved the ball, Jake Geisler might have been considered.
