:lol: That axe thing again. And the funny thing is I don't even know what axe I am grinding...the Seidl axe? Seidl is the best safety I have seen in N. Ky. in several years. I have never met the kid. I wouldn't know him if he walked up to me in person and said hi. I am just going by what I have seen on the field. Sorry if taking Abner off the team hurts your feelings but if I had one player to choose from Highlands D this year, it would be Seidl without a second thought.

What's the minimum number of games needed to be seen to accurately pick an all-state team?

Congrats to all elected and don't let it bother you if your one of the players left off this team. All ALL STAR teams are no a perfect science and never will be so just remember the good times and move on in life!!!

Individual stats are nice but I'm sure Mr. Jude would trade in his individual accolades, such as the all-BGP team, for a state title

Wow don't know who at Bluegrasspreps represents Fern Creek but, somebody needed to do their homework. A couple of these guys missed games do to suspensions and missed practices. Word is some had offers pulled due to these instances. Don't know what criteria is to make this team but...............

I know you are a strong Eastern supporter and are probably miffed that the Eagles had no representatives on the BGP team, but that does not justify your blast at the two Fern Creek players who made the BGP "Big 36" list. Jerrell Moore was a bit of a problem child this season and recently had his scholarship offer receinded by Charley Strong at U of L. The BGP crew was wise in not including him on their list.

 

However, both Brown and Harrington had excellent seasons for the Tigers, are rated as three stars by both Rivals and Scout, have D1 scholarships to U of L, and both were standout performers in the recent Jefferson County vs. Kentucky All-Star game played at St. X. I for one think they both definitely belong on the BGP team, and you have wrongly besmirched their achievements and character.

All of them!

 

Seriously though, no all-state team will ever be perfect. Thankfully, there are several all-state teams and hopefully all the kids that deserve some recognition will be on at least one of them.

 

Besides, even if you watched EVERY game, it would still be difficult (almost impossible) to compare a kid in Louisville, who plays mostly against other Louisville schools, and a kid from, say, western Kentucky, who basically just plays against other teams from western Kentucky.

 

I think BGP puts more effort into their all-state team than anyone else and I appreciate that. But there's always going to be at least one more player that coulda/shoulda been on the team.

I think the toughest positions to be recognized in are the D-linemen. The really good ones draw double teams almost every play and in alot of cases, especially against district opponents that know each other very well, the offence will run away from them for an entire game. These things hurt numbers for D-linemen but should be considered when they are evaluated.

Surprised Bradley from Cooper isn't on there as an athlete. At the end of the regular season he was leading NKY in rushing, was 4th in state in rushing. He also lined up at QB, WR, LB, S, and DE. If that's not an athlete I don't know what is. He also punted in a game the kicker was hurt.
