  1. So until we get lights, the first month of the season, we will have to go through this. CovCath has played many games in the low 90's over the years. Also last years game did start at 10:00 and it was will into the 90's, so lets not compare the weather for Saturday to the LaSalle. Last year it had been very hot a few days before the game and was very humid. The forecast calls for low humidity on Saturday. The team practiced in full pads yesterday and the temp was near 90. So let do not use the LaSalle game as standard, even the night games where moved back last year. I even heard that CovCath offer to move the game to Dixie. So again it comes down to the lights, and maybe it time to put the lights up and worry about the stands and replacing the turf to a later time.
  2. Just got a email that the game has been moved to 10:00. I personally believe that this a over reaction, but I bet the middle school will be play on Saturday afternoon.
  3. As of last night, they are talking of moving the game to 10:00 so stay tuned.
  4. I watched most of the second half and CovCath had at least 4 turnover. Campbell Co. was big but they are always one of the biggest freshman teams in NKY. CovCath moved the ball but shot themself in the foot, and the defense has to get off the field. It may have been the drive that Campbell took the lead, CovCath gave up a couple of fourth and longs. Campbell Co has a nice team, but CovCath beat themselves.
  5. I agree. All CovCath did was move a home game to Dixie, and the home schedule was a very weak one to begin with. And on top of that playing at 6:00 which makes it a little more difficult on a Friday.
  6. I would be the last person and I can not believe want I am about to say, but I agree about Highlands not playing in the thing. Playing $10.0 or $12.00 dollars to see CovCath play Campbell at Dixie, plus giving up a home date, is just stupid. Unless you are going to have special matchups and playing at UC or Paul Brown the Crosstown is a waste of time and money. Hell just froze over.
  7. CovCath moved the ball, but 4 turnovers will kill. The defense showed why they are one of the best in NKY,I think Ryle only crossed mid-field twice. CovCath's second/JV looked very good, they have very good QB in Soph. Adam Wagner. The JV scored in 3 of the 4 times they had the ball, including the halftime play. The defense also looked very good. Talking to some of the kids yesterday and after reviewing the films, they where not as disappointed as they where after game.
  8. I would say there is nothing preventing a male from trying out for cheerleading. So I would not classifying cheerleading as a female sport.
  9. Something else that may be a factor. If football is added, a male sport, would they be required to add a female sport?
  10. So true. Next got many holy cards for spelling.
  11. There chicken sandwiches are excellent. I know at kid from Campbell Co. was deciding between NewCath and CovCath and the lunch during his visit was the deciding factor. All of my sons still talk about how great the lunches were.
  12. There is more than football that kids attend CovCath from outside of the feeder schools. I know more than handful of kids that that made there decisions based partly on the lunches. Many kids and parents like the all male format, and the work required in the classroom. Also if football is part of the decision, many kids are in the middle school program and are connect to CovCath by the 5th or 6th grade. St. Henry's not only would they need to start a high school program, but also a middle school. So I disagree that St. Henry's would have a large affected on CovCath football, Holy Cross didn't.
  13. About want you would expect. CovCath defense is going to be very good. Bir looked very good, offense was better than i expect this early. NewCath looked like they will take a little time to get going. I believe they played two at QB. However this is just 7 on 7 and it was the first one at that.
  14. FYI The City of Park Hills submitted for the zone change, not CovCath
  15. yes the zone change was approved.
  16. I am sure TOG is moving into football mode.
  17. You will see alot of 2 back sets with Beatrice and Dressman.
  18. TOG: If Richard Skinner called it a error, then it has to be a hit. My 2 yr grandson knows about sports than he does. Based on the TOG's description of the play, that a hit. If the outfield is shifted based on the hitter, then he is in position.
  19. Congrats to Tom A. Little side note, but Tommy's grandfather Bob Erpenbeck can be seen in the Dan Tieman photo at the alumni center.
  20. This is just me, but Ben does not look like a pitcher. He is a big kid and looks more like a defensive lineman. Too many colleges in all sports look at a box and if you do not fit in it, you are not going to get a look.
