Maybe the best thing to do in the future is to get rid of the Championship game. The freshman are limited to 10 games. leaving everybody having an open 10th week. I believe the goal of freshman football is to developing future players, so IMO it is better to play 10 games and get as much playing time for the kids as possible.

How do you get Boone or Ryle in the finals.

I really like this group of CovCath group of kids. They just know how to win,which they have done since the 7th grade. The kids play as a team, there is no supper star among them. However they are a young group of kids, physically and winter weights will make a difference in the years to come.

the question here is the freshman limited to 10 games or are must they be finished before end of the varsity regular season final. Play the semi's on Oct 24th and finals on Oct. 29th. If it comes down to a coin flip, I say there should be no championship game at all.

Another great game by the CovCath defense. Penalties hurt both teams, costing Boone 2 TD's and hurting CovCath on both offense and defense. CovCath moved the ball, but once again penalties or turnovers stopping them. Wagner(#19) is going to be a good QB, the weight room is going to wonders for him.

Another good game by the CovCath defense, who were missing a key player in Braxton Foote. The DB's played way to passive in the first half. In the second half CovCath moved the ball but shot themselves in the foot on a couple of drive. CovCath has a good corp of 6 wideouts, all of who caught a pass last night. They do not throw the ball down field enough. Covcath could easily be 6-0.

You are assuming that Boone beats CovCath, but I like the four team format. also if Beechwood is going to be included then there games against the large schools should also count.

I like the idea of dressing freshman QB's, let them get the feel of the game. I have also heard Coach Wirth say that freshman should play freshman ball.

Game is 6:00 on Wednesday, but it is true that as of 11 Saturday morning CovCath had not heard anything from Highlands. One the coaches told me that he is 95% sure the game will not be Thursday,

Actually, NCC doesn't play Cov Cath anymore either. CovCath and NCC do not play because they could not find a date to play. It was not because NCC or CovCath did not want to play, I bet they play in two years.

I also heard that Dixie was not going to play Highlands this year, but needed a 10th game. As for as the Freshman, if we are going to play a Freshman Championship, all the big schools must play each other.

Another very good game by the CovCath defense. They had one bad drive and on that one I think Ryle had third and long 2or 3 times. Ryle's #24 kill them on that drive. The fumbled punt at the end of the second qrt. changed the game from Covcath winning by 2 or 3 to a game not decided until the end. I am hearing the CovCath vs Highlands game may be played on next Friday.

I do not see Coach Wirth putting 60+ points on anyone unless there are alot of defensive scores. Also the JV have no game scheduled for Oct. 1

Coach Ruthsatz is really thinking outside the box. He was at the alumni meeting last week and has some really big idea's for CovCath basketball. I also heard that they had four or five people from out of town come to clinic.

The only problem is that everyone does not play everyone else, if the schedule I saw is correct Dixie does not play Boone. So it is possible that that Boone or Dixie go undefeated against the larger schools and 2 schools with 1 lost, or we could have three schools with 1 lost.

It is a two team playoff, however last year CovCath and Campbell each had 1 lost and had a playoff game. I wish they go to a four team playoff like they had two years ago. I do not know the answer to the other question.
