I don't think so. Boone Co. and Dixie don't play this year..

They got embarrassed by a 1a and 2a team this year already, so, I would imagine they don't. They have some talented players too. Gotta be a coaching issue, doesn't it?

I won't ask who your source is , but is he/she reliable ?

It's true, Coach Mueller was notified mid week that Dixie would be backing out of the game next year.

Very reliable source!

Do you all think Highlands may end up having to do like Trinity and start to schedule out of state teams? I could see Boyle not having a regular season game with you guys after this current contract is up after the 2012 game.

Do not see how it can be at the frosh level since each are in the big school division. Seriously doubt that they will not play. As for varsity and JV that is no real surprise as they were not going to play them this year until someone backed out on them at the last minute. Before everyone gets on here to bash Dixie and/or Tom Spritzky for not playing, why not call out Boone County, Campbell County, Simon Kenton, Conner to name a few who have refused to play Highlands over the last several years. Therein lies part of the problem. To answer a previous poster, yes Highlands is going to have to start scheduling downstate or out of state opponents to complete its schedule for years to come.

Maybe Varsity and JV, but I have a hard time believing they could pull it off on Frosh as I think the schedules are set by powers other than the AD.

I guess CovCath is next.

I was going to post the same question , but you beat me to it. I guess great minds think alike ! :D

With Dixie being 6A , and not wanting to play HHS anymore with the talent that they have , what message does that send to the smaller schools with less talent than Dixie ? I thought the "avoiding Highlands " was a 6A Simon Kenton thing until now , what ever it is , it's spreading ! :scared:

Can't disagree with you; you pretty much called it as it has been.

How would it benefit Dixie to continue to play Highlands? As someone else stated, they were not scheduled to play this year and stepped up to fill a spot when someone cancelled out and both teams needed a game. This happens all the time, teams play a few years then they don't, the they play down the road once again. I am sure it's just varsity and JV, and if the powers to be at Dixie see they need to schedule more competitive teams, wouldn't it benefit HHS to look elsewhere for games?

I'm curious, when the current senior class at HHS and Dixie played as freshman, who won and what was the score?
