I'm curious, when the current senior class at HHS and Dixie played as freshman, who won and what was the score?

 

Irrelevant but since you asked I believe Dixie won but only because they had Drake Bruns. LOL.

Speaking of the Frosh race. If HHS wins out and Dixie and Boone will also have to take care of business, won't there be a 3 way tie for 1st place. If that happens wouldn't it go something like this.

HHS beat Dixie

Dixie and Boone don't play this year(I think) Someone correct me if I'm wrong if they do.

HHS@Boone for the Championship Game. Dixie the odd man out because they didn't schedule Boone. This all hinges on what HHS does against CovCath & Ryle the next couple of weeks and whoever the other 2 teams have left on their schedules. Looks to me like Dixie would probably love to have Boone on their schedule right now.

And they can thank their All American for running his mouth to his team mates and breaking up the "Dream" team....LOL!!!! 2 very important players of that team decided to escape the verbal abuse they were taking and go someplace where it mattered!! Some of the stuff that went on was simply amazing but then again.....

I'm sure Central would play them. They already have a gauntlet of a schedule, what's 1 more. Good time to get Trinity on the schedule, too. After this year, I'm sure there will be several teams wanting to opt out on them, as well.

I don't see it happening at the Freshman level. I mean they could not schedule them in the season but if they meet in the freshman playoffs or championship game what is Dixie going to say no we forfiet. No they will play. But as far as the JV and Varsity I see nothing wrong with not wanting to play them right now. Highlands I feel will need to start scheduling teams out of state.

It really is too bad the HHS/Dixie game won't be renewed. I am sure going to miss watching 2 very good football teams battle it out on the "Field" and not worry about what's going on outside the hashes. Sad actually! I wish Dixie football program all the best of luck in the future and you know where to find us. I will miss you(Dixie's Concession Stand)....LOL!

Do not see how it can be at the frosh level since each are in the big school division. Seriously doubt that they will not play. As for varsity and JV that is no real surprise as they were not going to play them this year until someone backed out on them at the last minute. Before everyone gets on here to bash Dixie and/or Tom Spritzky for not playing, why not call out Boone County, Campbell County, Simon Kenton, Conner to name a few who have refused to play Highlands over the last several years. Therein lies part of the problem. To answer a previous poster, yes Highlands is going to have to start scheduling downstate or out of state opponents to complete its schedule for years to come.

 

I think you can add New Cath to the list too. Back when there were 400 boys up on the hill it used to be one of the greatest rivalries around. I never did hear the real reason why those two stopped playing.

I also heard that Dixie was not going to play Highlands this year, but needed a 10th game.

As for as the Freshman, if we are going to play a Freshman Championship, all the big schools must play each other.

Whatever. We all know that their mom went to Highlands and that's why they transfered there. Even when they were still living in Independence. Please, let it go. This is not a bash Zeke Pike thread. We've heard enough.

Now there are 200 boys in the school, and I don't think anyone can critize the schedule 2A NewCath plays now.

Agreed! They play a very tough schedule that prepares them for a state run, but are no match for Highlands at this time.

I believe if the three 6A schools win out, they may do a round-robin to determine a champion. There is also availability for Dixie Heights to drop Ryle. There is a 10 game limit at frosh level. As far as getting left out, Dixie has one loss and the other two have two. Don't think it will be considered that way, but possible.
