Ted is a very good coach and he is retired from Covington PD and will do a great job with younger players. I have not heard otherwise but he could still be coaching at the varsity level. This could also mean Coach Ray is not retiring from coaching and is going to coach a few more years.

No, the school will not permit any organized workouts until they are enrolled in school, which will not be completed until March 15. That is one of the reasons I believe CovCath freshman appear under-strength. They are 3-4 months behind the other schools.

I have heard that this could be the largest freshman team in many,many years, well over 50. Someone told me a couple weeks ago that they had over 70 signed up. Sad thing is they can not start working out until they completed enrollment, usually 1st of April. Also new head coach. Ted Edgington . Ted was the first middle school head coach, and set the foundation that is just starting to show at the varsity level.

That 78 team had like 6 lost's that year, half of them to Holmes. Lost to a hot shooting Kurt Kool (sp) of Lloyd in regional semi's Was also on Coach Krump's first CovCath team.

Cooper defense was part of the poor shooting, but not all of it. CovCath had a lot good looks, but the shoots where just short. CovCath had a bad not shooting, even at the line, at one point they where 2-7 in a close game at the time.

Shoot 35% you are not going to win many games, but against a good team not at all. CovCath shots where short all night. And not having Nick F. for 3 qrts did not help. Collins #31 had a great night, it seemed that if he got it to the rim, it went in.

Because we have kids who are 6'-1"- 6'3" and do not fit into the D1 box.
