  1. Griffin Center is open after all home Football and basketball games. The home schedule is not very good. Dixie, Boone, Pendleton, & Harrision. Campbell is part of the Shootout at Dixie( not happy about paying $10 to watch this game at Dixie)
  2. I keep reading here about the great a tradition Saturday games are and it is the only high school game in town. If that was the case and everyone here were at the games on Saturday, we would have a full house. But the fact of the matter is attendance have been going down for years. It is no longer the only game in town, many middle schools have there own games on Saturday. I know of a couple of parents who have to make a choice to which kids game do they go to. More students work or have there own game or meet. One more thing the players hate playing on Saturday, no the time has come for Friday Night Lights. Look for the first game upper lights to be against Moeller.
  3. Has there been anything from CovCath because I have only heard here. I talked to Coach Wirth a couple of months ago and he said the schedule was the same as last year. He also said that the next schedule he would like to play another GCL school. I could see them playing next year and Moeller being the first game under lights.
  4. I counted 7 after the player has the ball and slaps it to starts the other to break.
  5. It has been a couple of years, but we would go on Sunday mornings.
  6. CovCath had a terrible start getting down 16-2 in the first 4 or 5 minutes. They fought back, but poor outside shooting , bad decisions and a good Dixie team was to much to over come. On a side note, I do have a problem with a Dixie grad being one of the ref's. Please note the call's in the game had NO bearing on the out come of the game. I felt there were bad calls against both teams.
  7. Great news for Jake. I told everyone last year that Jake was the glue that held that o-line together.
  8. I would add Dave Rechtin to this list. Played on a very good "78' team that had to go against a great Holmes team. Rechtin is a member of the 1000 points club and HOF
  9. Congrats to Dave. I hope Dixie gives him time to develop the program.
  10. I agree. It gets a little old for some programs to blame other programs for "poaching" player when wins come from the hard work in the off season. Highland's has 80 kid at winter weights and CovCath has 76 showing up for 6 am workouts.
  11. Covcath has no one to blame but themselves. You can not miss that many shots at the rim against a good team and win. The game would not have come down to that call ( a bad one IMO) if you had taken care of business. CovCath looked like deer in highlights at the beginning of the game, where alot of the shoots were missed. I can easily see 3 teams with one lost each, and I believe will make it a blind draw.
  12. It was a great evening, good to see a large group of people back at the Alumni center after the game.
  13. CovCath started their 6AM workouts yesterday
  14. Another fun game to watch. In the first half, CovCath was going 100 mph. There were a couple of fast breaks that I think the ball hit the floor once. Hayden is really starting to play the middle and Ruthstaz had a couple more jaw dropping moves.
  15. I am just telling you want I saw and relaying the comments from the people I talked to after the game. As for as not giving credit to past players is not true, many gave there best, but where in a bad situation. I know many of those players and there parents and they will say the same thing.
  16. For first time in many years it was fun to watch a CovCath team. Ruthsatz is the real deal, and only going to get better as his teammates also get better. Fredricks just had a off night. The only big problem was the lack of height and defending the middle. Come January this team will be a player in the region.
  17. Let's see how CovCath plays tonight before making any predictions.
  18. From what I've heard is that they will only dress 14, but keep 6 or 7 practice players. The practice players can work there way into dressing for games.
  19. Sadly is anyone really surprised by this. Pike thinks he is entitled and has been enabled by to many adults over the years.
  20. I have not talked to one player, past and present who likes playing on Saturday. Most people I talk to would love to come a watch them play, but have other thing to due on Saturdays. Times have changed and Saturday football does not work.
  21. For one thing no one knew about the record until after the game.
