Since the CovCath JV have no more games scheduled, I hope they get plenty of playing time. I just hope that when they do get in the coaches let them run the CovCath offense, and people out there do not start crying about running the score up. This is a very good soph. class and the more PT the better it is going to be.

I am sure all SK has to do is make a call. Both CovCath and Highlands have a opening next year.

I am pretty sure that the state did not allow move ups or downs. I know of no team that was moved up.

I saw a lot of CovCath fans talking to Beechwood players, most of them have know the kid their whole life. And yes a little back and forth would be going on. And I see nothing wrong with tell your opponent you are going to kick some butt on Friday. And reading this post a lot of people think it could be blowout, I for one would not be surprised that this is a close game. I always believed that this game means more to Beechwood than CovCath and CovCath plays Highlands the next week. I think you are reading way to much into the statement.

This is starting to get old. CovCath is a passing offense, they also have two of lineman out and have had a hard time running the ball. I did not hear any complains about LaSalle scoring with 15 seconds to go up 23-0.

current enrollment is 535. the last 2 freshman classes have been 135 and 150 kids. I have been told that they expect enrollment to be 550 within 2 years which would move us into 5A

per KHSAA site. Highlands is the smallest 4A school 420 boys ranked 110 CovCath is the eighth largest with 505 boys ranked 78

I hate to say it, but the Birds stay No.1 until they are beaten on the field.

I believe that CovCath is in the upper end of students and highlands in the lower end in 4A So I do not think is possible for Highlands to move up to 5A into a district with Conner & Cooper, if KHSAA holds it no move up rule.

Maybe we should end the game when a team is up 40 and we will not have this argument. As for the offense, from want I could tell all players played, however the o-line is the only position that have true backups. The should have started subbing earlier, and I did overhear a position coach say he did not know that we had a running clock. That is no excuse,but again this is where the running clock hurts the very kids we are talking about.

There is a big difference between practice and a game. No you run your offense and if like CovCath it is pass then run you throw the ball. And define taking a shot at the end zone, it you are on the 10 almost any pass is a shot at the end zone. I have been on the other end of the score, and I find more insulting when the other team stops doing what they do.

I do agree to a point with lionscoach but only to a point. Should CovCath have played every kid, for sure. As a CovCath fan,I was very disappointed in the CovCath coaches in not starting to getting the other kids into the game earlier. This is where the running clock hurts those kids who do not get to play. And I agree that JV is about developing players and every kids should play at least one series. It is not right to tell that kid who does get in that we are not going to run the offense. So that third string o-linemen has to learn to pass block or receiver needs run pass routes. As for CovCath, they have 1 QB, 1 true RB and the receivers go 2 deep. All 10 receiver rotate in and out during game, so there no true starter. The starters against Dixie were not the same group that started against Campbell. If you were at the game. 9 of the 10 made some very nice catches. As for the QB and RB they are just hard runners and are not going to lay down. Also the receiver screen is part of the running game and throwing a 2 yard pass and the kid running 5 or 10 yards is not CovCath's problem.

So until we get lights, the first month of the season, we will have to go through this. CovCath has played many games in the low 90's over the years. Also last years game did start at 10:00 and it was will into the 90's, so lets not compare the weather for Saturday to the LaSalle. Last year it had been very hot a few days before the game and was very humid. The forecast calls for low humidity on Saturday.The team practiced in full pads yesterday and the temp was near 90. So let do not use the LaSalle game as standard, even the night games where moved back last year. I even heard that CovCath offer to move the game to Dixie. So again it comes down to the lights, and maybe it time to put the lights up and worry about the stands and replacing the turf to a later time.

Just got a email that the game has been moved to 10:00. I personally believe that this a over reaction, but I bet the middle school will be play on Saturday afternoon.

As of last night, they are talking of moving the game to 10:00 so stay tuned.

I watched most of the second half and CovCath had at least 4 turnover. Campbell Co. was big but they are always one of the biggest freshman teams in NKY. CovCath moved the ball but shot themself in the foot, and the defense has to get off the field. It may have been the drive that Campbell took the lead, CovCath gave up a couple of fourth and longs. Campbell Co has a nice team,but CovCath beat themselves.

I agree. All CovCath did was move a home game to Dixie, and the home schedule was a very weak one to begin with. And on top of that playing at 6:00 which makes it a little more difficult on a Friday.
