CovCath welcomes Pendleton County to Wooten field this Saturday September 29th with the kick off scheduled for 1pm.

After the loss to HHS on Friday and with it being Homecoming weekend at CovCath, this game could get ugly, very quickly.

Look for B. Bir and L. Bir to put up huge numbers this weekend with the second half finding the CovCath JV getting plenty of minutes on the turf.

Pendleton County currently is 1-5 with losses to Carroll County 61-22, Ludlow 48-37, Cincinnati Country Day 32-22, Morgan County 54-12 and Covington Holmes 64-7. PC's only victory this season was against Bishop Brossart by a score of 35-28.

As has been posted on BGP's prior, this is PC last year playing for a KHSAA title, as PC has decided to play an independent schedule starting in 2013.

So what are your thoughts?

The KHSAA sure didnt help PC by putting them in this district.

You have to at least show respect for your opponent in a game like this. Teams like Cov Cath and HHS should play their starters until they lead by a few touchdowns, then put in the guys who never get to see action.

Or Harrison...after Pendleton leaves all of Harrison's district opponents will be atleast an hour drive from Cynthiana.

I'll say

To quote Mr T from Rocky II I believe, when they asked what's your prediction for this fight and he simply answered "Pain!". I don't know if I want to see the final score on this one.

Is it really necessary to have a "prediction thread" on this type of game, so everyone can find a different way to denigrate PC's program, and come up with cute anecdotes to describe the vast difference in talent between the programs?? Easy to understand why PC is playing an independent schedule next year--To allow their kids to compete while building a program without the ridicule of "prediction threads" on websites when they're forced to play schools like Highlands & CovCath. Best of luck to both teams for the remainder of the season.

I would hope that CCH plays most starters no more than the 1st quarter.

There is nothing to prove here.

Give the youngsters some playing time and let PC play the game for the pride of competing.

Haven't really seen much of what you describe in this thread. But to NOT post a prediction thread would be a slap in the face to the entire Pendleton County program. It would say to them that the members of BGP did not consider them worthy of being treated like every other hard-working team in the state.

The Pendleton County players know what they're up against. They know they will probably take a good beating on the scoreboard. But they're putting all they've got out on the field and taking away whatever lessons they can for the future. They have a right to be treated like any other team in the state.

Each week, there are a lot of game involving our top ranked teams -- and many of them will be lopsided. If we stopped posting threads for those we predict to be blowouts, isn't that just as humiliating as any cruel comment that might be posted in a prediction thread?

Well I really hope that members of BGP are above bashing kids on PC's team. I see what you're saying though, it doesn't take Einstien to predict any outcome here. Really no need to say much more than that.

Agree that I saw little (yet) of the belittling on this particular thread, but my point is what is gained by restating the oh-so-obvious in a game like this?? I for one thought it was refreshing last week to not see a NCC-Brossart "prediction" thread for example, like the one last year with multiple 100-0+ "predictions". Obviously BGP'ers are free to discuss anything within the rules of the site; but I just see no purpose in these type threads when the outcome is pretty obvious, and the "predictions" only serve to belittle the inferior opponent?? Just my opinion.

Covington Catholic 70-0.

This one will be over right after the coin flip..CCH 72 Pendleton 0

Not that it's going to happen again any time soon...but there are those of us at Cov Cath who still cringe when we think about two playoff losses straight to Harrison County.
