Covington Catholic 56 Harrison County 7

Featured Replies

Final from Cynthiana.

The game was completely dominated much more so, than the score indicates, as CovCath had a total of 433 first half and 88 second half yards of offense for a total of 521 yards of offense, compared to Harrison County 46 first half and 41 second half for a total of 87 yards of offense.

Now I am not whining nor complaining, just reporting:

CovCath had 8 total penalties called on them in the game.

Four penalties in the first half were called on CovCath that each resulted in a long TD pass/run being called back and all were for offessive holding.

Four penalties in the second half of which two were for pass interference, one for defensive holding and one a face mask penalty, of which three came on the same series, which resulted in a Harrison County TD being scored.

Harrison County had a total of 2 penalties called on them......

Note: Talkers kicked off and the ball sailed over the HC kickoff return receivers who were standing on the 10 yard line. They made no attempt to make sure the ball went into the end-zone for a touch-back and when the ball came to rest on the 1 yard line, CovCath #84 Evan Braun recovered the ball but could not advance the ball, to allow CovCath Dressmen to score the TD from one yard out.

2nd quarter .28 seconds

I am told that Gabe's dad is a Harrison County alum.

The Blue Colonels win big and the first post complains about officials.

BTW congrats to CovCath Bradley Way for being offered a scholarship from Wofford College!

Wofford, plays in the Southern Conference and currently are 4-1 with their only loss being to Clemson by a score of 35-27.

...I didn't see any comments about the bad officiating or about calls being bogus, unjustified, or unfair. Apparently people can't report stats on penalties without being labeled a complainer.

Did you attend the game?

Did you even read my comment prior to reporting about the game?

No whining, no complaining, just reporting the facts of the game to those who didn't attend the game!

Wouldn't you think having four penalties called all in the first half and each resulting in a long pass/run TD being called back worth reporting to those who didn't attend the game?

Sounded like whining to me. My guess is the Blue Colonels ended up scoring on those drives anyway right?

Is there a section of the rule book that says penalties should be even in number?

What were the numbers for Blake Bir?

That kid is probably the 2nd best passing QB in Northern KY. Super consistent.

Yes. Look it up.

Yes they did and in fact the 78 and 82 yard TD's were on plays almost directly after the penalties.

Would you like to tell me when the last time have you seen or yet even heard of four TD's being called back on long runs/passes all in the first half and all on holding penalties? Again not complaining nor whining just stating fact and yet again did you attend the game?

Blake played only in the first half and went 11-17-0 for 264 yards and four TD's of 78 yards, 34 yards, 12 yards and 25 yards!

Forgot to mention but the Harrison County punter #9 Jordan Kellione has the strongest punting leg I have seen play this season. The young man had 5 attempts for a total of 224 yards and that's an average 44.8 yards a punt and all of them were deep and high!

Outstanding job young man and I tip my hat to you!

If it wasn't complaining and only to point out the oddities of it why did you point out Harrison only had 2 penalties? Did those result in TD's being called back as well?
