  1. I was told by a Dixie Freshman coach that they have 25 kids.
  2. Looks like the only playoff spot still open is the winner of the CovCath 7th vs Walton.
  3. Coach Conner did a great job, I believe you may see more B-games in the future if he can fine some schools to play. This was such a great idea, getting some of the other kids more real game playing time will only make them better players. CovCath has a couple of 6'-3", 6'-5" 275 lbs lineman who have never played before, and getting them playing time will pay big time in the future.
  4. CovCath 7th 28 Holy Cross 6 CovCath 8th 34 Twenhofel 0
  5. After their worst defensive effort (no effort)in two years CovCath 8th 30 Summit View 6
  6. Yea, that is a good idea, a bunch of catholic's showing up to tailgate at a baptist church.
  7. We had an open date, Lloyd was added just in the last few weeks.
  8. I may be wrong but I believe the CovCath first team D has only given up 1 score. Also congrat's to the St. Agnes kids, Hatter, Fischer and O'Connell
  9. Lets worry about this next year. Bir is doing fine, he is going to good games and bad games
  10. One thing people have to remember than Ohio has computer rankings. Teams like CovCath can not get schools of similar size to play them. CovCath would have a better chance to beating a Roger Bacon than a Lasalle or Elder. CovCath by having a usually high KY rating, helps the big GCL schools when they beat them, but the smaller GCL's will be hurt if they lose.
  11. Game was not even as close as the score. Except for broken coverage on two plays, the CovCath one's only gave up two first downs. The other TD was score against the 2's and 3's, but they also played well. Good start, but keep your heads in the game.
  12. Dressman dresses Varsity but has not played. Some roosters list him as no.8 but is wearing no.10, Conner is wearing 8. Pope has looked good along with Bir at running back. Ross Meek on D-line is going to be a good one if works hard and keeps his head on the game.
  13. I believe the object of the game is to move the ball down the field and score. I do not care how it is done, even if you stand on your head and do a funny dance. For those of you who remember CovCath freshmen coach Tim Banker may well have happen. CovCath had a balanced attack on Saturday.
  14. CovCath 8th 6 Woodland 0 Again a very goof defensive effort by CovCath, I think Woodland may have only crossed mid-field twice. On offense, like their big brothers to many mistakes and penalties on Offense. Next week against Campbell Co,they can not make dumb mistakes.
  15. CovCath 8th grade 14 Turkeyfoot 6. Turkeyfoot is very big, but slow. There QB is very good, stop him and you stop Turkeyfoot. CovCath made to many mistakes on offense, Defensively they are very good.
  16. Does anyone know if you can get copies of past games? Sad day for NKY football.
  17. Game moved to Cooper. Freshman game has been canceled with varsity starting at 7:30. CAN WE SAY LIGHTS PLEASE.
  18. The CovCath vs LexCath games have been moved to 9:00 & 10:30
  19. Talked to the CovCath trainer last night, he think play most likely starting about 7:00(this is not official). This is based on field temps thur the week.
  20. Results from Saturdays Summit Veiw scrimmage. CovCath 7th grade just man handled the other 7th grade teams. I do not believe they gave up a score. They have two very good Quarterbacks and Running backs. On the 8th grade side. Grant Co. went 4-0 beating CovCath (2-2) twice. CovCath did not look good on offense. The starts only played about half the plays. The defense play ok only giving up 3 or 4 scores, again the starters play less than half the downs. CovCath had to go double overtime with Woodland to get into the finals with Grant, but the starters did not play until the overtime. In the finals Grant won 9-6. Grant scored on the 11th play(10 play format) as CovCath had stop them 3 times inside the 5. CovCath scored on their 3 or 4th play, bot threw an interception on the 9th play. Both Woodland and Grant had nice size. This was not a good format for CovCath. with only 40 offensive and defensive plays, and playing 46 kids. The other teams had between 15-20 kids, so the kids could get into the flow of the game. Also many people believe that CovCath is playing two 8th grade teams in the league. CovCath plays an all 7th grade team in the small school division and a all 8th grade team in the large. The 8th grader who played on Saturday are the same kids who lost in the small school championship last year. CovCath play LexCath next Saturday at CovCath.
  21. The other two games 5:00 NewCath vs Turkeyfoot 6:30 Twenhofel vs Greendale, IN
  22. CovCath, Summit View, Woodland, Grant Co. I know for sure. Round Robin type format starting at 10. Then the next week four games at CovCath, with CovCath vs LexCath 7th graders at 2 followed by the 8th Graders at 3:30 The next 2 games I have to check on, and post later
  23. Two new teams this year, Ludlow and Tichenor. The small school division has 10 teams with maybe NewCath the favorite. CovCath 7th Grade may take a little time to gel, but could be a force late. The big school division has 6 teams with CovCath 8th and Campbell County the favorite. CovCath 8th Graders were runnerups last year in the small school. They have added a couple good additions and the front four have added size. If they play with the same passion as last year, they could be hard to beat. They have their first scrimmage Saturday at Summit View
