Congrats to Cov Cath's Blake Bir

Featured Replies

Just saw the below on the school website. I did not see a thread on this already - if so sorry. Regardless - Congrats to Blake!

Covington Catholic junior QB Blake Bir is among the area football players listed on the U.S. Army All-American Bowl combine roster, which will be featured during the bowl week in early January in San Antonio.

Bir, who is 6 feet 2 and 185 pounds, threw for 2,482 yards and 28 touchdowns this past season as a junior. He rushed 50 times for 240 yards and a touchdown. He had a 61 percent completion percentage.

Bir has thrown for 4,782 yards passing with 50 touchdown passes. He is receiving interest from Northwestern, Duke, Vanderbilt, Indiana, Mississippi State, Bowling Green, Miami University, Marshall, and several others, according to CovCath coach David Wirth.

Good deal for Blake.

Big summer coming up for him.

Good news. Congrats to Bir. I agree with Clyde - big summer for Bir. He needs to hit the camps, learn and perform. I love seeing the D1 schools coming to N. Ky.

I believe you will see the young man do just that VOR, as Blake is not playing baseball this year for the Colonels! Outstanding young man who has his feet planted firmly in the ground.

Great honor congrats to the young man.

He went to quite a few camps last summer.

Excellent kid I spoke to his dad at the Highlands game, I know they have an interest in Northwestern, it was a matter of time before more offers came in.

I'm not sure I follow when you say "more" offers. Have there been official offers already?

Wow! That's an impressive list of seriously high academic schools. And I'm sure that's just the start of something good for him.

A very good player and person. Good luck down there. I would get with some guys that have been down there to get the low down about what to expect. I know some Highlands guys who went last year would be more than happy to talk to him about it.

Sure is. Congratulations to Blake and good luck!

Was looking for the results of the combine that took place on Friday. Could not find them anywhere. Why does the US Army only share the results with the participants? Seems like the results would be published somewhere for all to see. If anyone has them, could you please post them?

It takes a while before they release them and when they are released players go into their account and decide whether to Make them public. A lot of laser timed 40's never make it to publication.
