Anyone that has followed Highlands football knows that Dale is the BEST at promoting his football players regardless of the division they could possibly play. This has always been a very positive side of Coach Mueller that you do not hear and/or see out of a lot of coaches. In regards to recruiters being lined up outside of the office, that is not a positive for any team in regards to distractions and team goals that have been set. Letters to individuals and phone calls is a different ball game. The Birds play one game at a time, as a team, and not individually. Great things will take place for Tony and Adam! The coach and fathers will ensure that takes place. They are their biggest fans and should be! Good luck to both young men.

Wasn't the dancing and jumping taking place after the varsity game? How is this classless? Coaches are not allowed to get excited? I hear a little bitterness in your post because the varsity lost...isn't the JV about development for varsity? Sounds as if a good play call by Coach Brannen won the game and Coach Pangallo was excited, as he should be, about the victory over a rival Class A School. Classless and Coach Pangallo do not go hand and hand. This is a man that reaches out to all kids and is a great motivator. Congrats to NCC on a great win.

It was Brandon Tucker...from what I heard it was the only shot he made all night. Played great "D", Obviously he came through when it was needed most! Great win for the CATS!!

Arnold was sitting this evening due to attitude. He is the one player that I believe can help this team a great deal down the road if he decides to let physical bumps by opposing players and calls against him go. Hopefully maturity will help with this...if not, I am sure his playing time will diminish greatly at the varsity level.

Aside from Dontel, the Collins kid is a lot of fun to watch! I just hope he is able to remain focused. He will not be a very big kid in high school but can really distribute and handle the ball.

There are several players that can handle the ball very well at the 9th grade level. Dontel has grown a great deal over the past year. He, like Kevon, are going to continue to grow and will be another set of brothers that will be fun to watch over the next few years playing for Holmes.

The talent pool is going to continue to get deeper for Holmes as long as the kids in grades 6-8 remain focused on academics being number one and the basketball as the guide by their side! The Two Rivers Middle School 6th and 7th grade teams have a load of talent AGAIN!

I truly believe Ricardo is feeling this pressure the most out of all the players. He has had the scouts tugging on his shirt for a number of years. He understands the numbers game and what this year and next will bring him. He is a GREAT kid (they all are great kids) and I hope he begins to settle into his role and is able to enjoy the rest of the year.

There is a lot of pressure on all of the Holmes players. McClendon, in time, will be a contributer for Holmes in the years to come. The pressure JJ, Ricardo, Elijah, Jamel, and the remaining players are feeling is coming from those in the stands. AAU coaches yelling from the stands on how to play, etc. Thank goodness for Henley's calm demeanor because calm is not any part of the coaches in the stands. Hopefully the kids can continue to play as a team, remain patient, not allow the outside (AAU Coaches, College Scouts) pressures interfere what should be another great run and a lot of fun for NKY and the Covington Community to follow and support. Ricardo Johnson is a leader and has many more experiences than Pittman. These experiences allow him to remain calm and keep his composure throughout the toughest moments in the game. Pittman, like Arnold, has a lot of upside. This upside will continue to shine with maturity. Pittman and Arnold have difficulty letting the little things go that keep them from maximizing their potential. When this occurs, watch out! Great win for the Dawgs! Looking forward to seeing them play in the Lloyd Tournament this weekend. Congratulation Coach Henley and staff!!

Is it not time to give this post a rest. Obviously the school has moved forward and Coach McDonald has as well. I hope, since I have 3Breds2B, the BGP posters on this thread have very little to do with athletics and/or academics at NCC.

It is a shame if she is leaving because of negative parental influences. I am sure she is looking forward to watching and enjoying her own children play a variety of athletics. Her record and accomplishments speak for themselves. Good Luck to Coach McDonald and we will look forward to cheering on our children together!
