I agree Raiderbird. Absolutely ridiculous. He has all the tools and has proven he is an All Stater leading the Birds to 2 straight state championships.

Man i wish this kid would of played DL all 3 years. This kid would of been one of the top players to come out of Ky in 2008. Period..

Seems a lot of D1 schools are starting to take a serious look at a recruits grades. BTW again I am not saying he has bad grades or great grades as I don't know but could this be a problem? The kid indeed is a very good player!

So with that i think Adam should go where he wants to go and maybe walk on at a Big School. The kid has the size and strength(sp) to play Big Time D-Line. IMO

It happened to Zeke Reynolds in 88 at Highlands, he didn't even get a look at any smaller schools and then he decided to walk on at UNLV his 1st year. Earned a full ride his soph year and became team captain by the time he was a Sr. Maybe being 6"8" and weighing 325lbs had something to do with it. Follow your heart Adam, but for some reason i think his heart is telling him to play on Offense.

I see him at church every Sunday. He looks like he may still have some growing to do.

What is Dempsey's actual size. The roster shows him at 6'4" and 248 lbs. I know how they tend to stretch the numbers, so I was just wondering.

I went back to an older thread and someone had posted that his ACT score was a 26 and SAT scores were also fairly strong, so he would appear to have more than the necessary grades.

 

Interesting, though, this same thread contained many protestations of HHS supporters of all the near-guarantee D-1 prospects at HHS. And quite a few simply haven't come to pass (yet - maybe they will :thumb:). Just goes to show that D-1 football scholarships are tough to come by and not every very good or even great player will get one. Even if they wear an HHS jersey.

Adam will play D1 ball whether it be as a walk on or with a scholarship.....

Adam Dempsey is an elite player in KY. He is the total package, playing well on both sides of the ball. The proof is in the pudding, checking out the HHS game films, including the playoffs, State Championship and Border Bowl game's Defensive MVP. All year Adam went toe-to-toe with the classes' D1 talent and strongly dominated those players.

Adam is a fantastic player but I think he is real similar to Slusher from Beechwood. Size/frame wise they may be a little shy of where a typical D1 lineman should be.

 

That is not to say that either player can't play at that level, but to say they are tweeners.

Agreed. At 6'3", Adam is probably considered to be too short to play O tackle or guard, but could play center. He's going to have to prove he can add 40 to 50 pounds to his frame. The kid does possess quick feet and a great first step. If he can add the weight/muscle to his frame and not lose his quickness, he will start at center at a D-1 school some day. Smart kid and very coachable.

I think that he is a great kid and a great player, the only problem is he looks a lot like a bunch of high school linemen. What I mean is he doesn't stand out of a crowd. Someone that is 6'3" comes a dime a dozen. I think he can play at the next level but the best route IMO is to go to a big school and work his tail off and earn a scholarship. The coaches will have to see him play and prove that he can hold his own at the next level. Also your right he will need to be a center ion college. He's not tall enough to play tackle and maybe guard but the most intelligent linemen play center which is where I think he would fit in. They need to know protections and defensive schemes which is where he would excell. But this is all my opinion so take it for what it is worth.
