Newport loses to Highlands big but beats Beechwood who beat Highlands.

Big win for Newport. This team just continues to leave you scratching your head.

Not sure. I don't have any details from the game, just heard that Newport won on a buzzer beater.

It was Brandon Tucker...from what I heard it was the only shot he made all night. Played great "D", Obviously he came through when it was needed most! Great win for the CATS!!

Great win for the Cats. I agree with NHS BIG DADDY - this Newport team makes you wonder which team will show up to play. I guess the better team was there tonight - now can they keep showing up for the rest of the ALL "A" Classic.

With Beechwood losing to Newport, it has to make Holy Cross the favorite to come out of the 9th.

Not as an excuse for the Tigers but it was a pretty bad officiated game IMO. Romes also fouled out with 2minutes and 30 seconds to go.

Impressive comback for Newport. Beechwood had an 8 point lead with less than 3 minutes left.

Beechwood has seemed to struggle against teams with more athleticism than them. (Holmes and now Newport.

Beechwood led by 10 with 4 minutes left. Seemed like Beechwood let off the gas with about 5 minutes left, then tried to turn it back on with 2 minutes left. Many costly turnovers for Beechwood in the last 3 or 4 minutes. Neither team played very well but Newport finished with the final flury. Not sure how Beechwood beat Highlands.
