I agree, not much talent coming through for the next couple of years. I also thought Coach Lauster did a good job considering the talent level he was dealt with. IMO, that is probably one of the toughest districts in the 8th region to get out of.

New lights. It might be better for pictures. Henry county has done a lot of renovations in the last couple of years.

Why does everybody let Steiner off so easliy? Year in and out he has the best talent across the board and he can't beat a small a compared to 6A football school! What is the reason that Steiner has lasted so long at Sk? B/c he makes it to region every year, that's a great job considering your beating two small A schools in a 4 team district. If he coached in the 9th or 10th region he'd be on the hot seat just like coach Hicks from Conner.

I thought senior night had a negative effect on Gallatin. It took them a half to get into sync. Grant plays hard. Good luck to both teams in district.

Most good coaches have instructed their players to go get the loose balls for the ref during dead ball situations. Referees miss calls, coaches make bad decisions, players miss shots and make turnovers. The human element makes the game interesting. Every team has been on both sides of a bad call, good teams take advantage of a break, bad teams let adversity be their demise. Overall, refs do a very good job. I have been to several games where you don't notice they are there.

Congratulations to Coach Jones and his GC Wildcats, if I’m not mistaken I believe this is his fifth All-A title. He does an amazing job at getting the best out of his kids. Also, Congratulations to Coach Nethery, he is turning the Eminence program around. Good luck to both of these teams the rest of the year!

What was wrong with Sullivand and Brockman? Why didn't they play?

I was just interetsed in seeing what Martha Layne had. Has anyone seen them play in a scrimage or do they have any upcoming scrimages?

1. OldhamCounty - Smith, Payne, big boy that I forget his name 6'7 2. Simon Kenton - Chambers, Gray, 2 big boys, lots of young players coming on 3. North Oldham - Rowan, Steinmetz, Yates, new coach that knows how to win at a big level 4. Collins - Elzy and the best talent of athletes to choose from 5. South Oldham - very strong soph class and Fields, a very good player 6. Gallatin County- best young guards, Davis, Morgan, Brown, (Williamson, Carlton and Dossett) nice older players I think all six could win the region. All have weaknesses, all have strengths. Region will be wide open. Owen, Walton, Grant and Spencer can beat any of these teams, but I don't think they can win the region.

Galla.tin starts 70% 9th graders. Lack of size will kill them. They will be very good in about 2 years

Coach Duvall has a good young group. They may be a year away from big things, but there is a lot of talent in Owenton. Williams is a quality big. Osborne is a good shooter with size. Ripey is a good point guard. They have some unproven players to choose from to fill out the lineup. Ball, Shelton, and the younger Williams are some young talent you will hear about for several years. This could be a very good team for Owen by the end of the year.

Holland has a good nucleus back. I believe the point guard is Smith. He is very good when healthy. Payne is very good. They also have a quality big boy. They will be a top five pick in the 8th.

Walton is in a conference with Gallatin, Owen, Carroll, Trimble, Williamstown and Henry County. I believe the letters are NCKC.

This may be the year SK surprises everyone and wins the region. Under the radar, yet talented enough to win.

Spencer County is my surprise pick - they have everyone back from a good team last year, if they win the 29th district they could win the region. Simon will be good. The toughest district appears to be the Oldhams. North and Oldham should be good and Trimble and South will be solid as well. Gallatin and Owen should be the class of the 31st.

Joe is principal. I don't think he can hire his son due to nepotism laws. Talent has been low at Ludlow. I've heard they have 2 nice 8th graders, they will likely have an effect on Ludlow's future success.

Just saw this job was posted on KHSAA. What happen to Stacey May, I thought he did a fantastic job considering the talent he had.

I would think Grant to be a decent job. I would rank the Shelby's as 1 and 2, Oldhams 3,4,5 Simon and Anderson 6, 7 and Grant as the 8th best job in the region. Any job where you should go to the region every year has a shot at Rupp. Grant does not have a large city to support their talent pool. Shelbyville, Lagrange, Crestwood, Independence,and Lawrenceburg are going to attract and support players more than towns the size of Dry Ridge and Crittenden. Still, every 10 years, they will have a shot.

I have heard Clark has taken an assistant principal job with mlc, so shelby will be looking for a coach now.

The best team in the history of Ky high school basketball lost in the finals of the district. 79 lafayette with minniefield, johnson, wilson, minniefield, rose and others lost to Melvin Turpin in the district (Bryan Station)

Because had he not hit that shot, then we would have been playing Shelby last night and that play would have never happen.

Here is a link to the last 15 seconds of the ball game. Look at it and tell me if the kid really got fouled. Looks like to me that Jones got fouled more on the other end, and there was no call.

If Kristian Morgan hadn't hit the shot againist Owen at the end of regulation would we be talking about the foul? The questions can go on and on, but it all ends with the game ending on a whistle. This is how it ended and that is the debate that will be had. Why do you stay home on the biggest night of the year?
