Curtis Turley, who once coached the boys basketball team at Shelby County High School, will return to the county – but this time to coach the boys at the new Collins High School.

I can't believe anyone would hire him anymore.

In a race to coach 100 schools beore he retires, Turley is heading into the home stretch.

Shocked and not shocked at the same time.

Shocked that they hired him but not shocked he is back into coaching.

I had heard Booher at state apparently that was not true.

Can't get the link to work.

Maybe the new principal at Collins really enjoys conducting interviews because given this hire he'll be conducting boys basketball interviews again next year at this time!

They knew what they were hiring, a state tournament mercenary.

Look at what happened at Manual. Manual had started getting some extreme talent coming in and hires Turley. Then Turley leaves after just one season. Turley is the coaching version of one-and-done.

When was the last time a Turley team made state?

He's the Larry Brown of high school basketball. What is this his 13th coaching job?

I have heard Clark has taken an assistant principal job with mlc, so shelby will be looking for a coach now.

This makes no sense, how old is he? Time to retire.

Maybe he can do for MLC what he did for CovCath this year.

I know he took Daviess County...did he take a team after that?

Nope, that would be the last. So he had stops at Lexington Catholic, DuPont Manual, and Warren East after that. All one year stops, none of them going to the Sweet 16. I'd say he doesn't qualify as a state tournament mercenary with that failure rate. The man takes over made teams generally, which I'm not certain fits the bill here, nor did it at his last stop. If Martha Layne Collins gets more than 2 years out of him, they should consider themselves lucky.

Could the prospect of coaching Hicks keep him at MLC for three seasons?
