My heart goes out to Coach Jones and the boys at Gallatin. Not the way you'd want your season to come to an end, but still a fantastic year. And has anyone had some of the "tough luck" that Coach Jones has had over the past 10 years or so at the regional tournament? I know the Cats have had their share of success, but the losses in '99 and '08, coupled with last night, have just been heartbreaking.

In a close game you can go back and talk about all the "ifs" and "buts" that would have changed the outcome. The fact of the matter is that the game was decided on a bad call. No one should have their season/career ended by a whistle.

 

Congratulations to GC on a great season. I can't think of a more exciting team to watch. They played their hearts out, and they deserved better.

Gallatin did what they had to do, they came out and punched SO in the nose and played great ball. SO reacted and started playing ball late in the first half. Great game to both schools.

I look for South to get the win tonight against Shelby.

Totally agree with all of the comments above. For the Wildcats season to end on a bad call....not good. Would have been a great game with Shelby.

 

Feel bad for Bryce, Zac and the rest of the seniors. They will live to fight again.

 

On the upside, the Wildcats still have some youth and they'll be back to the Region. Kristian Morgan had been averaging 17 points per game for the previous couple of weeks. There's your upside. He'll continue to grow as he starts his soph. year next year.

SO didn't overlook anyone. GC just outplayed them early. Let's give some credit to GC's coaches for getting them prepared to play. No one overlooks their opponent at this level. If they do they won't be around very long.

If Kristian Morgan hadn't hit the shot againist Owen at the end of regulation would we be talking about the foul? The questions can go on and on, but it all ends with the game ending on a whistle. This is how it ended and that is the debate that will be had.

Here is a link to the last 15 seconds of the ball game. Look at it and tell me if the kid really got fouled. Looks like to me that Jones got fouled more on the other end, and there was no call.

One call does not decide the game. Granted the timing wasn't good but it is what it is. If Gallatin would have made more shots or had more defensive stops this wouldn't be an issue. Don't blame it on the officials.
