I just watched the clip again. It wasn't a "fall away jumper". The kid took several dribbles and pulled up into the jumper. I think the official thought there was a foul so he blew the whistle - and that is the only reason why he blew the whistle. I have no dog in the hunt. If I had to pick a team, I would root for Gallatin. But that is not even close to being a blatant missed call. From the clip, I am not saying there was or wasn't a foul but I can see why an official could call a foul there.

 

 

OMG!!! You got to be kidding!!! I was courtside also and zach purposely stepped back even to avoid a foul. The SO kid said in an interview with the Courier Journal that zach didn't foul him with his hand but that he was pushed. How can you push someone when you step back away from them. Kid was a great actor is all I got to say!!

This should've been a no call plain and simple. There was no contact at all when the shot was released. If there was any contact at all it came as Jackson was coming down and kicked his leg out ala Reggie Miller. The contact did not effect the shot at all and the official should have let the players settled the outcome in overtime. A good officiating crew is the one in which no one knows that they were even part of the game. Everyone left the gym last night talking about the officials instead of a group of kids from both teams that left their hearts and souls out there on the floor. That is the real shame of it all!!!!

Dude, were you at the same game? SO didnt not expect Gallatin to come out and run over them like they did. It took a whole quarter before they woke up! I would say that is over looking! Coach Simpson didn't that is why he benched his starters after about 3 or 4 minutes. At this level? We are talking about 15 to 18 year olds, that hardly ever stay focused. If you read my post you will see that I gave credit to GC. Read next time before you post! Thank you.

 

When I said at this level I was referring to it being the regional semi finals. It sounds like they weren't prepared for the game. That falls on the coach. I agree that Coach Simpson did a good job of adjusting and getting his players' attention. However, it was obvious that Coach Jones had his team better prepared. You can talk about them overlooking them all you want, but GC came out playing with fire and purpose. SO did not.

 

Yeah, you gave GC some credit, but my question is, What did South expect Gallatin to do? Come out and lay down for them. Anyone who has watched Coach Jones' team over the years will tell you that's not going to happen, Dude.

The weirdest thing about that end of game call wasnt that there was actually a foul called...its the time it took to call it. The whistle didnt blow until a couple of seconds later.

 

I agree with this! I couldn't really tell by the You Tube Video about the foul, but it's obvious about how long it took to blow the whistle.
