8th region draw

Featured Replies

Henry Co Vs Collins

Oldham Co Vs Simon Kenton

Spencer Co Vs Gallatin Co

Walton Vs North Oldham

Simon Kenton didn't get a good draw.

Where and when are these games as well as the semifinals and finals?

Games are at Henry Co. Wednesday, Thursday, Monday, Tuesday.

Oldham probably feels the same way about the draw as SK. The 8th region is basically wide open but that opening round game will be a good one.

Bottom bracket looks wide open.

It's funny to see Trame and Henley draw each other in the first round. These two battled in the 35th District for about 5 years together, who would have thought back then that they would be coaching in the 8th region tournament against each other?

Each and every game in the boy's 8th will be broadcast by the Pegasus Sports Network at http://www.pegasussportsky.com

All broadcasts are live and archived...I encourage everyone to get to Henry County HS to watch what should be one of the most wide-open boys' tournaments in a long, long time. You have to believe that any of these 8 teams could win it all...

In the upper bracket, Oldham has defeated the other three teams, but by narrow margins, beating Henry 57-50, Collins 60-56, and SK 57-49. SK defeated Henry by 1 on a last-second buzzer-beating bomb. Henry County and Collins did not play this year... The upper bracket looks VERY competitive.

In the lower bracket, Spencer edged North Oldham by 6, and Walton-Verona split two with Gallatin County. The teams actually matched up in the first round, however, did not play each other this season, but all indications point toward a pretty competitive lower bracket as well.

Who wins in the end? Going to be a fun one....

Went from being two minutes away and playing almost every year in the postseason to a hour and a half away and seeing each other in it as well. Got to love how Ky is so spaced out. LOL

I really wish the semis and finals were on the weekend.

Agree with Col Mike... this thing is wide open. The last five years, there were pretty much 1 or 2 favorites and then everyone else. I have a feeling though, the winner comes out of the top bracket.

My favorite venue for high school basketball in Kentucky. It is a blast to attend the Roy where they have had the tourney for what; 40 something years? (will say though; the worst lit gym in Kentucky for pictures.)

Only thing better is getting in a meal of fried oysters in at Our Best Restaraunt on the way down on a Saturday afternoon; tough to do with the games on weeknight. Agree with Neerfan about having them on the weekend.

I believe this will be the 49th consecutive year the regional has been held in New Castle.

New lights. It might be better for pictures. Henry county has done a lot of renovations in the last couple of years.

I believe you are correct Knife. The Roy opened in '62, I remember Colonel Mike posing a question about the last facility to host the tournament during the SK/Oldham Pegasus broadcast.
