It will be very interesting to see who is interested in the Male job, one that figures to attract some quality applicants.

Male should be a good job with its broader reach of enrolling students. If Male gets to the level of Ballard, Eastern et al., (which is entirely possible), how tough will the 7th be then?

Male and Lafayette, two of the more storied programs open in the same year. Any word on when they will be filled and any names floating around?

Male is only able to get kids from two middle schools. The days of them getting kids from all over Jefferson County is over. The biggest plus at Male is a weak district that starting next year includes St. X and then two very small schools in Brown and Collegiate. However, they are a long way from Ballard, Eastern, Trinity, and a few more teams they would have to beat to get to the state tournament. The glory days at Male could very well be over.

Male can only enroll students from 3 traditional middle schools in the Louisville area. These students are not allowed to transfer to that middle school in the 8th grade to be eligible to enroll at Male. This is not the same as in the past.Male will be competitive next year but will be down after that. The new coach will have to start looking at 5th graders to get them to enroll into the Male middle school feeders.BTW, Saint X should be on the improve for the forseeable future.
