  1. After attending the NKU/Louisville game Saturday, I cannot wait to attend the 9th/10th region games. While I doubt it will reach a sell-out, the place will be rocking. I can hear the battling bands in my head now !!
  2. Bellevue had a very solid record last season. Bringing in Herald will only improve the program as he is a proven winner.
  3. I feel Boone's coach should be on the hot seat as well. There is no excuse for not making the region with all the talent he had last year. I understand a lot of the players were young, but they still had more talent than St. Henry, who almost lost to Villa Madonna in the region. St. Henry out coached Boone in the games they played last year. I expect Boone to make it to atleast the regional semifinals or its a terrible season in my book.
  4. 1. Highlands 2. Beechwood 3. Boone County 4. NCC 5. Campbell County 6. Conner 7. Ryle 8. Simon Kenton 9. Dixie 10. Covington Catholic (and yes I know they beat Dixie a few weeks ago, but I feel Dixie is young and has improved since)
  5. The inexperienced Dixie team has played against two of the top runningbacks in NKY the first two weeks of the season. Hopefully the young Dixie squad will turn it around soon. Credit goes out to Mr. Simpson on one heck of a game. Good luck to both teams the rest of the year.
  6. Congrats to the Ludlow coach for his first win
  7. Would you say Brossart outcoached Schneider? Or was it the talent that wore down the 'Breds?
  8. Is Mark Pike's son seeing any playing time at the varsity level?
  9. Colerain is too big, too strong and too deep for the bluebirds. It is rare that a Highlands team is outmatched, but in this game, that is the case. Ohio football is on a whole nother level. I think if Highlands wants to make a game out of it, they are going to have to out coach them. Little things like onside kicks, and fake punts must be used to keep Colerain on their toes and perhaps give Highlands a few extra possessions. I would like to see what Dale has in store.
  10. 7- Colerain 5- Holmes 3- Newport Central Catholic 2- Dixie 1- Ludlow TB- Colerain
  11. I believe the loser of this game could be in for a long season. This is a very winable game for both squads. I hate to say that a week 1 non-district game has so much importance, but I think the outcome will truely point the direction of each team's season.
  12. Walton does not compete in NKY DIII. The teams are Ludlow, Dayton, Villa, Beechwood, Silver Grove, Heritage, Bellevue and Calvary Christian. I may have left one out but those are the teams I can think of off the top of my head.
  13. I have heard a lot of good things about younger SK players. That said, I see NCC winning by two touchdowns. Should be a good game for 3 quarters before the better team wins.
  14. 7 Holmes 5 Newport Central Catholic 3 Cardinal Mooney, OH 2 Grant County 1 Campbell County TB- Holmes
  15. Its a great class A team vs. a great class 5A team. Naturally, the 5A team is expected to win, and in this case will win. But it only makes Beechwood better and Highlands will benefit as well. Good luck to both teams and no injuries !!
  16. I totally agree. I have not gotten out and about in NKY for football in quite sometime. I am hoping this year I can see a few new stadiums and fields that have changed in the last 15 years. Any additional football games are a plus. And I am sure you won't hear any complaints from some of these smaller schools who rarely see an opportunity for media coverage.
  17. I believe Bryan Station still has an opening. The old coach took the Dunbar job.
  18. That field looks great. Are thier any Kenton County schools under the district without turf now? I know Dixie has it, now Simon, how about Scott?
  19. It is difficult to keep 29+ Northern Kentucky schools happy. I am glad to see any local coverage at all. He is never going to be perfect. I understand certain schools may seem to get more ink, but like you said, they have the most talent. As the season approaches, I think he does a much better job in covering every team. Keep up the great work Ryan.
  20. Best of luck to Coach Reinhart. BB can certainly become a great program with time.
  21. Pittman was the Cov. Cath. JV coach last year correct? Why is he not returning?
  22. Do they not plan on playing the Beechwood District game?
  23. Congrats to Mr. McGraw. I felt he was the best player on this years Highlands team. Transy is getting a steal of a player. I expect to hear big things in the future from Greg. Coach Lane, and the Transy program.
  24. I had heard some rumblings long ago about the coaching staff. However, why make the move now? I understand if they wanted a change, happens all the time, but to wait until now, makes no sence.
