New Head Football Coach

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

June 16, 2008 Alexandria, Kentucky

For additional information contact:

Matt Reinhart at 859-512-6673

Mel Webster, Athletic Director at 859-609-6937

Tom Seither, Principal at 859-635-2108 ext 123

Bishop Brossart High School today named their new Head Football Coach for the 2008 season.

The Mustangs new football boss will be Matt Reinhart.

Reinhart joins the young Alexandria program after four yeas as an assistant coach at Scott High School where from 2005-2008 was defensive line coach and aided in coaching the offensive line. He was also Assistant Wrestling Coach at the Taylor Mill School.

“Coach Reinhart brings to our program a true passion for the game of football, strong Christian beliefs, and the work ethic and background to be an outstanding Head Football Coach for us for a long time,” exclaimed Bishop Brossart Athletic Director Mel Webster. “We certainly feel we have the right man for this job. We feel foremost he and his staff will be excellent teachers of the game of football.”

Coach Reinhart was excited to earn the opportunity to coach at Bishop Brossart.

“I am extremely humbled and honored to be selected for this post. I am very glad to be here and this is the place I want to be,” proclaimed the new coach.

He further added “I am a positive thinker. I am result oriented. I believe in team spirit. I view football as a tool in developing young men into contributing adults in society. I strongly believe that academics are first and foremost.”

Reinhart was an active player at Holmes High School for Coaches Bill Hina and Steve McCarthy. Injuries prohibited Reinhart from a chance to play at the collegiate level. His leadership skills were developed thru playing, coaching and other positions he has held in non football-related fields.

The 32 year-old Reinhart was in the private sector before deciding to go into teaching and coaching. In addition to his line duties for the Scott Eagles, Reinhart assisted with play development, managing inventory, securing new equipment. He assisted in the winter weight program, all camps and training course/classes.

In 2005 and 2006 he was the Offensive Coordinator of the Woodland Middle School Program and served as Quarterback and Runningback Coach. He also there established the Wildcats Football Booster Club which assisted in fundraising for the program and provided team support.

He majored in History and minored in Anthropology at Northern Kentucky University.

An active member of the Knights of Columbus, his career objective was to secure a head coaching position within the Catholic school system.

Reinhart resides in Independence, Kentucky with his wife Michelle, son Kyle (15) and twin daughters Caylee and Kylee both 11.

The new coach will officially greet the Mustang team and parents next Tuesday evening at Bishop Brossart’s Hegenauer Hall at 7:00 PM on the eve of the KHSAA state mandated ‘Dead Period.” He plans to use the time to finalize his coaching staff and plans for the upcoming season.

His first game will be a scrimmage with Trimble County at 1:00 PM on August 15th and the Mustangs second season will open at home (Newport Stadium) on August 29th at 7:00 hosting Owen County.

Congrats to Coach Reinhart and good luck. Does he have anyone wanting to join his staff. He is certainly getting a late start. Good luck to all at BBHS..

Congrats to Matt he is a great guy and very passionate about the game of football. Im sure he will have no problem getting a staff together. I couldn't be happier for him he deserves this and I know he will not let down the Mustangs.

I wish the new coach well. He is already coming into a position where the kids are going to be behind and playing catch-up for a couple of seasons.

However, am I reading this right, he has no varsity experience as an offensive or defensive coordinator? I personally feel that this will slow the develop of this program.

Congratulations to Matt and the Brossart family! Remeber, get to work 'Quickly! Quickly!'...

The best of luck.

:scared:Way to go Matt. :thumb:Passion, dedication, excitement.... few words to describe Matt;) I hope only the best for you.

Brossart Athletic Director Mel Webster pulls offs a big hire with Rinehart. This definately will get the Brossart football program where it needs to be in the future. Rinehart will be missed at Scott where he helped set up discipline in the program over the years and always had his hand in everything in the Scott program. The sky is the limit for the Brossart program but it is now especially for the Scott program which definately can move forward after this big loss in the Coaching staff. Matt good luck at Brossart I will be rooting for you.

Coach Reinhart is already hard at work, I know a couple that is joining his staff already. They know they have a hard road ahead with getting hired late and the dead period is just about here and they were not with the weight program if there was one but if anyone can do it Coach Reinhart is the man for the job.

Congrats to the Brossart community on the hire. Look forward to covering the Mustangs this year!!!:thumb:

I don't know if I could call this a big hire. If he could have gotten a good head coach to leave and come to BBHS, then yes, it would be.

Anyone know who was interviewed or applied?

Congrats to the coach. I wish him well.:dancingpa

I agree. This is a borderline hire at best. I know the Scott following will voice their support. But come on. How can the Brossart fans get excited over a middle school coordinator whose bio does not indicate even a head position on any level. This looks like a "settle" hire to me.

Is there a reason why Casey did not have him on the varsity staff since he had already had some years with the Eagles?

I have relatives that play for Brossart and I want them to do well.

Just my opinion.

Reinhart was on the varsity staff the past two years.
