OK - let's get this one going. Will Newport be ready for Bellevue this time around? Or will Bellevue take Newport lightly?

I will say after the way Conner beat up on the Cats they will be ready I look for Newport to get the running game back on track with Oden and Short. Collins to have a great game. Thomas and Price should be able to get open down field against the Tigers. Newports LB's and DB's are going to have to step up to stop Buckler and Hatch.

Hatch is not eligible this season. IMO I'd rather depend on Short and McDay in the backfield than I would Oden. Oden has talent but he is not dependable. Newport's defensive front should be okay and the LB's should be fine too. But as far as the DB's I tend to wonder - strongest part is safety with Price. Collins shows a good running game himself but passing still needs to improve. Good luck Cats.

I think the Tigers will have their hands full with the Wildcats this season.

Going with the Tigers! Its unfortunate that Hatch isn't back this season but that's not going to stop the Tigers. Buckler is injury free and he and his team are ready to play football. They have worked hard over the summer and if they come out focused it will be a good game.

IMO the game will be determined up front. Bellevue has a mix of experience and some new raw talent that desperately need playing time together to be a unit. What is Newport like up front on Offense and Defense? I'm sure this will be a good game. With NCC and SK playing after will be a nice first weekend to catch.:dancingpa

Newport 27-13.

It is a must for Bellevue to have a good week of practice after their exibition against Walton Verona. Wills needs to work hard on the passing and his teammates need to stick behind him if they want to pull this one out. Good luck Tigers... :ylsuper:

After watching the Tigers in their scrimmage against Walton, they need to improve on a couple aspects of the game, which I am sure they will get right this week. Eckstein and his staff, will not take the wildcats lightly and will prepare the Tigers for a win

I think the Wildcats will be ready after the Conner scrimmage. This year's team is a very determined bunch and won't take losing very well. They just have to hang tough and not let anything or anyone get them down.

With your predicted score I assume you know of Bellevue PAT troubles. How about Newports Big Guys who do they have up front?

I have to go with Newport. I belive Jim Hyder made some adjustments during the off season that will help the Cats.

This one is for all the Newport fans, There will be times that things will get tough, JUST KEEP SUPPORTING BECAUSE YOU HAVE GREAT COACHES.

This one is for the players, TOUGH PLAYERS LAST, TOUGH GAMES DON'T! When the game gets tough, Just keep playing and beleiving and good things will happen!

GO CATS!

I think Newport OL and DL is about even with the Tigers up front.

You have a good point about Oden about his dependablty and McDay shows he has some skills he is only a soph. Newports DB's seem to play to far off the ball at the snap, they need to play up on the ball. Collins is a tough young man and he will just get better as the year goes on.
