Madisonville-Elliott County Prediction
Elliott should win this easily. Madisonville lost 4 of 5 starters from last years team plus their first reserve off the bench. Jon Hood is very short handed for his senior year. Elliott should have played Scott Co. in this one but for some reason Coach Mays requested to Sheldon Clark staff that they not play Scott Co. I can't figure that one out because it is only a scrimmage. Anyways, good luck to both teams and our future wildcat Mr. Hood.

Cats Pause-16th Region
I will be the first to say I bet Knipp is playing in the 4th region his junior and senior year.

Kentucky Report: 09 Jacob Jenkins
I always hear about all the offers he has, but never see a list of schools who have offered. I know Western Kentucky and Murray State (two of the top mid-majors in KY) have not offered him. Who has actually offered him? Just quriuos.

Kentucky Report: Aaron Cosby
I would not trade Chad Jackson, Vee Sanford, Elisha Justice, or Ethan Faulkner for him. But, he is a nice player who can play basketball.

Now is the time.
Basketball coaches do not get hired back each year based upon how many wins the football team has each season. Basketball coaches pay their mortgages and bills based upon how many games they win. Therefore, they are going to look out for their family most of the time. Except for Billie G., he is single with no kids and makes $3.5 million a year (he's set)!

Kimbro leaves Manual
I thought this was old news. This summer everywhere they played, everyone in the gym said Kimbro was headed somewhere up near New England to go to a prep school that cost around $20K to $30K a year. No one has stated on here what prep school he is going to now, but I am assuming this is the same as what was thought this summer (a long time ago).

Cats Pause Yearbook - 14th Region
Hazard is the favorite. The bad thing for Knott or Letcher is that they will have to beat both Hazard and Perry Central to win it because Hazard and Perry will be on opposite sides of the bracket in the region. Therefore, I am going with Hazard to repeat with Knott being a close second.

Cats Pause 11th Region
Billy Hicks will not win 11th region coach of year this season. The KABC changed their policy and will now only let head coaches vote on coach of the year. Before, Billy or any head coach could pay $15 for 30 people to be in the KABC then vote for himself when all the ballots are mailed out to the school. There is no way Billy wins this award last year with all the transfers they get in there year in and year out unless something like this is done. This is why they changed the policy for the upcoming season. Wait and see if Billy does not win it this year under the new policy regardless if they go undeafeted and win state. Back on topic, Scott will win the region hands down. Too many weapons. I like Lex. Cath at number two spot though.

Cats Pause-16th Region
Elliott will win this region hands down this year. Then Elliot's new coaching staff and players next year will take it on the chin for all the scores being run up on them from the past couple of years. East Carter does have a nice team with size, but won't be able to play with Elliott come post season.

Best Big man in the state?
Phares is the best I have seen. Euton has only shown me he can hit a "set" 3 point shot. I just don't see Euton being able to guard anyone in the SEC since Billy G. likes to play mostly man-to-man nor getting open for any shots. Hopefully he will prove me wrong because we have used a scholarship on him. Knipp does not like any physical play and often hangs out on 3 point line to avoid contact. Zollo, I am hoping he is more athletic and better than the video shows. When you are a big man in the SEC you better be able to rip the rim off when you shoot crip shots. He was only shooting layups in videos and not getting close to the rim on them. He won't get a shot off in D1 if this is his way of shooting inside.

How about Scott Co. and Elliott right off the bat?

"Official" Word On The 2009 10th Region Tournament
Now if the 9th and 10 could draw each other in the opening round of the state tournament, then it will make it that much more exciting!!!

Elliott Co 2008/2009
I would like to see them play a better schedule. Scott County, Louisville teams, Lexington teams, northern Kentucky teams are no where to be found on their schedule listed on KHSAA. I don't see how beating 16th region teams 30-50 points each night out makes you better. I guess in the end we will see. They should be fun to watch and I wish them the best of luck this season.

7th Region for 08/09
Kimbro is headed to a prep school up north (maybe in Deleware?). The prep school is supposed to cost him @ $40,000 per year.
-
Top Teams for 08/09
Tony Kimbro, Jr. is transferring to a prep school somewhere in one of the New England states. Said to be @ $40 grand to go there. In eastern Kentucky, Elliott Co., Hazard and Shelby Valley will be in the top 20 all season.

King of the Bluegrass field announced
Expense is not the reason for these two events. They pay good money to get you to these two. Maybe they will win it all and then say you don't have to play a very tough schedule to win it all.
-
King of the Bluegrass field announced
Very strong field and looks to be an exciting tournament. For some reason Elliott Co. is not wanting to play a top notch schedule. They agreed to play in King of the Bluegrass and Farm Bureau Classic and later declined after accepting invitation. They could have had some very good competition in both events. Instead, they play a lot in their region against lesser competition.

Owensboro Coach?
Thats how Turley is able to be selective this time around. He has retired from teaching profession. Therefore, he can pick and choose a job knowing he does not have to worry about what teaching positions are open.
-
Camp question:
I really enjoyed the Don Lane sleepover camp at Transy too. Was the funnel trick your favorite part of don lane's camp? just reminiscing!!!
-
Owensboro Coach?
He may already be hired at Warren East before the applications are taken up for this job.

Warren East Job?
Rumor has it around Bowling Green Curtis Turley was going to be offered the job. Warren East has won more regional titles than anyone in the 4th region. I don't know what they have coming up, but this should be an attractive job.
