What does Elliott Co. need to do to improve in 2008/2009? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

With all 5 starters returning they will need to work on their bench and giving them more playing time to improve their play. Overall Elliott County should win their region again and make it back to the sweet 16 as long as their starting 5 stay healthy:thumb:.

I agree get the bench players some time and get them used to playing.

I have that feeling as well. I also have the feeling that the starters have improved and will be much improved from last year. Should be another fun bunch to watch play.

I would like to see them play a better schedule. Scott County, Louisville teams, Lexington teams, northern Kentucky teams are no where to be found on their schedule listed on KHSAA. I don't see how beating 16th region teams 30-50 points each night out makes you better. I guess in the end we will see. They should be fun to watch and I wish them the best of luck this season.

The schedule on riherds is not complete. However it does include the Beach Ball Classic, no extra work for them there. That is only the best Christmas Tourney in the country, maybe Elliott should search for a better tourney this Christmas, LOL. They will play the best here, no doubt.:thumb:

Timmy has a ton of potential, but played like a young freshman last year. His summer play gives some indication that he may be moving his game up a notch and making strides toward his full potential.

Elliott is not a lock to get out of the 16th region. East Carter, Bath County, and Ashland all very capable of beating them. And to say that their starting five is as good as any in the state is a foolish statement. Clark County, Scott County, Mason County, Hazard, J'town, Manual, Ballard all would thump Elliott if they played. If Elliott is one of the top teams in Ky then why are they not playing more top teams in Ky. I looked at their schedule and Mason Co. is the only top team in Ky that they are playing. ??????????????????????

He knows the game plenty well enough to know that any team can be upset but to say EC would be thumped by any of the teams listed above is quit a statement. Where I agree 100% that any of the teams you listed COULD beat Elliott County, to write EC completely off aganist those teams before the season starts is a bit early, IMHO.

 

Elliott County's schedule will be as challenging as any this year. EC plays possibly the best team in WV, South Charleston, in the KY Bank Shootout. They travel to the most prestigious christmas tournament in the nation to play 4 top 25 teams in the country. They play one of the best teams in the 8th region, Anderson County, in Montgomery County's shootout and Mason County travels to Sandy Hook to play this year. Not to mention playing East Carter twice, Bath County, and Ashland which you yourself predicted to be good games. So EC will be battle tested.
