  1. Congrats to my CATS!!! I love it everytime we beat Donovan and his gators. Miller is finally starting to play upto his potential. Hats off to the CATS as they are finally starting to gel. Keep it going next week.
  2. I think he is a first round pick, but not a top 10 pick right now. I can think of atleast 10 players I would pick before I would pick Jones. Maybe I am just hoping they all stay for next year and add next years class with the current and they could be GREAT!
  3. I don't think he is ready to go up against the good NBA 4-men just yet. He needs atleast another year. Mashburn, Walker, Mercer, etc. all stayed an extra year and I think these three and others are better than Jones as freshmen. The problem is these agents will swarm him as soon as the season ends or before and tell him how great he is and he has to go pro. He will see dollar signs and be tempted like anyone else would with millions dangling in front of them.
  4. I'm venting. Coach Cal has to play some zone with a 6 player rotation. They beat us at our own game tonight. The 2 points off the technical did end up hurting us. I don't see any of our players going pro after tonights game after this season is over. None of them looked like they are ready to step on the floor with the big boys in the NBA.
  5. Huge turnover. Cats down 1 with :12 seconds to play in OT. T.O. UK
  6. I hope the 2 points off the technical foul earlier don't come back to beat us.
  7. Huge 3! Tied up 1:59 to play. TO Arkansas.
  8. Harrelson hedge on the ball screen was terrible. 4 point play Clark. Arkansas by 3
  9. I just don't see Jones going pro unless he needs some money desperately. He has a lot to improve from another year in blue. 61-60 4:20 UK
  10. I think they all come back unless one or two transfer. Does any of these draft projections have Jones being a lottery pick? I just don't think he is ready. I know Knight is not ready either. Maybe just wishful thinking they all come back to add them to next years incoming class.
  11. 6 player rotation and all man-to-man defense. Can Coach Cal not play some zone? Pelphrey and the Hogs are beating us at our own game (dribble drive). 53-53 8:30 to go. Come on CATS!
  12. Bledsoe and Orton leaving before Cal thought, combined with Kanter being ruled eligible, has made this team a middle of the pack SEC team in the east. Hopefully we can continue to win home games and steal a game or two on the road. I'm starting to think this was our "bridge" year and not Louisvilles.
  13. Coach Cal needs to start recruiting all his current players who are possibly thinking of going pro to stay another year to get better. Add them with the kids coming in and Kentucky could be close to where they were last year. I would love to see UK go far in the NCAA, but if they make it past the second round I will be very surprised. Keep Fighting BBN!
  14. Behanan is by far the best junior prospect in Kentucky. Coach Cal isn't showing much interest from what I gather though. I think when it is all said and done, Cincy is his first choice and Louisville will be his second choice.
  15. Is this sarcasm or do you really believe Sewell and Trinity had a better season than Justice and Shelby Valley? I don't think even Walter or passtheball would agree with that statement, maybe not though.
  16. Looking at Rivals.com Justice is a 3 star and Sewell is a no star. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Elisha-Justice-102297 I am not saying this to start some long arguement about who is better. I am simply saying that Justice signed a scholly with a Big East team and he was the only signee from Kentucky to sign Major D1
  17. I guess now we don't have to listen to passtheball and loubball anymore about him being a walkon. He is now a scholarship player in the Big East and the only senior to sign major Division 1. Congrats to Elisha!
  18. The reason why Sewell gets the most votes in this is because the Courier Journal polled the coaches at the end of the regular season. Therefore, the coaches didn't get to see the post season play before this was voted on. This is why Justice won Mr. Basketball. The coaches voted on it after the post season was over. The Courier Journal really needs to clarify when they polled the coaches because many people are going to be asking the same question. Kind of stupid to come out with this all state team 3 weeks after the state tournament was over when it was complete before district tournaments started.
  19. Not misleading, it is a record in the 15th. I would have thought J.R. Vanhoose, John Pelphrey, or Todd May would have maybe done it, but no one in the 15th has ever won more than 2 MVP's. I was just wandering if anyone had done this in another region before.
  20. History question: What other players around the state have won 3 region tournament MVPs? I am sure there are some other great players throughout the history of Ky basketball to do this. Help me out with some history. Thanks!
  21. Congratulations to Elisha Justice for winning his third MVP for the 15th region tournament. He won the award his freshmen, junior and senior year. Winning it his freshmen year has also never been done by any other freshmen in 15th region history. Regardless of what region he plays in, this is a great accomplishment. Congrats to Justice and good luck at Rupp!
