Henry is shooting the ball great tonight, 6 out of 7 from behind the arc. 22 pts already.
-
Wall is still young though, just fouled 3 point shooter. I hope we get this kid, he is going to be great!
-
Good luck to Coach Miller. He is a great coach and works his tail off. He will be very successful at Arizona.

What does it say about Gillispie's recruiting....
UKYBBALL replied to The Scribe's topic in College Basketball
I Agree 100%. The effort was definitely there, but some of his recruits were very questionable, especially the young ones. I could understand if you knew they were going to be a top 10 player early and they were ready to sign. But Euton signing early, made me think what type of recruiter BCG was to begin with. Ferguson, Orton and Hood are the 3 that can play, the others need to go lower in their level of play. Like Cal said, most of his recruits are not UK type recruits. -
Maggard just updated his Facebook status!!!

I do agree with telling each player up front with where they fit in the new coach's system (a.k.a. playing time) and letting the player make the decision whether or not they want to ride the pine for the remainder of their career or transfer.:idunno: -
If Billy Donovan keeps going to NITs, then he may have wished he took the UK job in a couple of years.
-
Mike Anderson would atleast play the style of ball all UK fans love to watch!

North Carolina did the same thing. Smith retired, then two other coaches came and gone before getting one of the best in Williams. Now Carolina is back on track.

Stone is the name I am hearing.

The buzz around the state tourney was Timmy Knipp will take Phares spot at Scott County next year. -
Holmes 67 Elliott County 57
UKYBBALL replied to Cameraman's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Congrats to Holmes on an impressive win. Congrats to Elliott on a great run over the last few years. It ended on a sour note though with no championships to show for them except district and regions. The media probably should have waited for them to win an All "A" state championship or Sweet 16 state championship before doing all the national media hype about them being the next Hoosiers II. It probably would not have put so much pressure on the boys to win one or both. -
http://www.courier-journal.com/blogs/demling/blog.html Hood, Mathies named POYs Two University of Kentucky basketball signees have captured Player of the Year honors by the Associated Press in the state of Kentucky. Madisonville's Jon Hood (left) was named Boys' Player of the Year, while Iroquois' Adia Mathies (right) won the Girls' Player of the Year honors. The two were named by the state's media outlets. Joining Hood on the first-team All-State team were Elliott County's Jonathan Ferguson, Lexington Catholic's Vee Sanford, Scott County's Richie Phares and Covington Holmes' Elijah Pittman. As bad as UK needs a point guard, I am surprised they haven't offered Justice or Vee Sanford. -

I still say Liggins leaves and Vee is our point guard next season. -
Phares was the best post player in the state. Best of luck on a speedy recovery. I hope the colleges don't shy a way now and he can sign a DI scholarship!

I watched the head-to-head matchup and it wasn't close between the two. Don't get me wrong Ethan is very good, but this time next year Justice will be even better. -
State Redistricting Plan
UKYBBALL replied to sportsmaniac's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
The KHSAA and board of control has changed their minds on 3 team districts. They use to not want them. Now with all the consolidation, the KHSAA does not mind three team districts. You will more than likely see Fleming Co. and Lawrence Co. move regions next year. -
Which School Will Bring the Biggest Fan Base?
UKYBBALL replied to King James's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Scott County will bring the most fans because they bought all the tickets up thinking they were going to be there for four games. Just adding a little humor to this thread. -

Elliott didn't have too large of crowds at the All A -
Liggins will leave, Vee Sanford will wait on his decision before making his own decision. Would you all take Vee over Liggins?
