  1. What is sad is UK can't even run any half court sets to get the ball to him because their guard play can't hang on to the ball long enough to run anything. Patterson needs to keep playing hard and demanding the ball from his teammates. They need to fear him a little bit and hopefully Meeks will calm down with his forced shots and 5-20 shooting.
  2. You beat me to it. It is for this reason he got the offer and Porter had a teammate I believe Tubby was trying to get while Porter was in high school as well. Gillespie needs to get some more scholarships quick and get some people that can play. Hopefully Jai Lucas or John Wall was watching last night and will feel sorry for us.
  3. AJ must not play hard and Gillespie is doing this to get him to transfer so he can use AJ's scholarship on one of his own recruits. Coach must have found out Galloway is not as good as he thought he was when he recruited him.
  4. I think everyone agrees including Porter himself that he is not good enough to play at Ky. We are just very young at this position. I think Gillespie is using Porter to get through the first 2 games and then the next game we play Liggins will start. As bad as Meeks don't want to play point, he may have to play some.
  5. I don't think people from Kentucky ever cared about Minnesota. They never play anyone around here usually and have a totally different recruiting base than our universities. I wish Tubby nothing but the best. I guess some followed them when Clem Haskins was there.
  6. I will be the first to say I bet Knipp is playing in the 4th region his junior and senior year.
  7. As bad as I want Harrison Barnes, I don't think we have a chance at getting him.
  8. I always hear about all the offers he has, but never see a list of schools who have offered. I know Western Kentucky and Murray State (two of the top mid-majors in KY) have not offered him. Who has actually offered him? Just quriuos.
  9. I would not trade Chad Jackson, Vee Sanford, Elisha Justice, or Ethan Faulkner for him. But, he is a nice player who can play basketball.
  10. Basketball coaches do not get hired back each year based upon how many wins the football team has each season. Basketball coaches pay their mortgages and bills based upon how many games they win. Therefore, they are going to look out for their family most of the time. Except for Billie G., he is single with no kids and makes $3.5 million a year (he's set)!
  11. I thought this was old news. This summer everywhere they played, everyone in the gym said Kimbro was headed somewhere up near New England to go to a prep school that cost around $20K to $30K a year. No one has stated on here what prep school he is going to now, but I am assuming this is the same as what was thought this summer (a long time ago).
  12. Hazard is the favorite. The bad thing for Knott or Letcher is that they will have to beat both Hazard and Perry Central to win it because Hazard and Perry will be on opposite sides of the bracket in the region. Therefore, I am going with Hazard to repeat with Knott being a close second.
  13. Billy Hicks will not win 11th region coach of year this season. The KABC changed their policy and will now only let head coaches vote on coach of the year. Before, Billy or any head coach could pay $15 for 30 people to be in the KABC then vote for himself when all the ballots are mailed out to the school. There is no way Billy wins this award last year with all the transfers they get in there year in and year out unless something like this is done. This is why they changed the policy for the upcoming season. Wait and see if Billy does not win it this year under the new policy regardless if they go undeafeted and win state. Back on topic, Scott will win the region hands down. Too many weapons. I like Lex. Cath at number two spot though.
  14. Elliott will win this region hands down this year. Then Elliot's new coaching staff and players next year will take it on the chin for all the scores being run up on them from the past couple of years. East Carter does have a nice team with size, but won't be able to play with Elliott come post season.
  15. Here are some really good pics of the new jerseys. I like the sewn in black piece which says Mr. Wildcat. The checkered pattern reminds me of UMBRO's soccer shorts. http://www.ukathletics.com/view.gal?id=35653
  16. I bet they will have new ones by the beginning of SEC play. They are kind of plain with old Ohio State style shorts. Hats off to them for finding a way to remember MR. WILDCAT though!!!
  17. Is there anyway Euton can withdraw his commitment and go to Georgetown College or something? We could use his scholarship on someone much more athletic.
  18. Phares is the best I have seen. Euton has only shown me he can hit a "set" 3 point shot. I just don't see Euton being able to guard anyone in the SEC since Billy G. likes to play mostly man-to-man nor getting open for any shots. Hopefully he will prove me wrong because we have used a scholarship on him. Knipp does not like any physical play and often hangs out on 3 point line to avoid contact. Zollo, I am hoping he is more athletic and better than the video shows. When you are a big man in the SEC you better be able to rip the rim off when you shoot crip shots. He was only shooting layups in videos and not getting close to the rim on them. He won't get a shot off in D1 if this is his way of shooting inside.
  19. UK is their only close game before Big East play. In all their other pre-conference games, they will be heavy favorites. This schedule reminds me of a Billy Donovan schedule. Make sure you get a lot of wins before the conference games start. How many top 20 teams do they have on this schedule outside their conference?
  20. How about Scott Co. and Elliott right off the bat?
  21. Now if the 9th and 10 could draw each other in the opening round of the state tournament, then it will make it that much more exciting!!!
  22. I would like to see them play a better schedule. Scott County, Louisville teams, Lexington teams, northern Kentucky teams are no where to be found on their schedule listed on KHSAA. I don't see how beating 16th region teams 30-50 points each night out makes you better. I guess in the end we will see. They should be fun to watch and I wish them the best of luck this season.
  23. As both Matt Jones and Jerry Tipton reported in their blogs, Madisonville's senior John Hood and Shelby Valley's junior Elisha Justice looked really good yesterday.
  24. I think colleges need to up the bar to 25 wins per season now that they play so many regular season games. Too many coaches/ programs are able to say they have so many 20 win seasons when really they could end up with @ 20-14 season record, which is not real good according to many peoples standards.
