What makes a good high school guard?
Very well said! I agree 100% :thumb:

Gallatin Co 76 Walton-Verona 71
One player does not make a team. Was Scott Co. down when the Wildcats played them? I mean Bud Mackey was not playing and they still came away with a victory. The Scott Co. Cardinals are proving that just one player does not make or break a team. They are without their Mr. Basketball candidate and still ranked in the top 5 in the state.

Trimble Co 66 Carroll 54
Just judging from past seasons. I am not meaning to put Trimble down, just history shows that Trimble's basketball team has not been a contender. I hear that the talent at Carroll is great also. That junior and sophomore class are filled with talent. Thta is who most talk about on the site. I am not sure on how Trimble is this year since I was unable to make it to that game Thursday night, but I do wish them the best of luck. :thumb: I am sorry if I offended you TB&G, that was not my intentions.

Trimble Co 66 Carroll 54
You are absolutely right! These boys do not need to be put down right now. They are coming off a loss to Trimble, a game they probably should have won. Every team has bad games and Thursday night was Carroll's. I am sure Carroll will bounce back from the loss. Good luck Panthers against Owen Co! :thumb:

Gallatin Co 76 Walton-Verona 71
You are 100% right TB&G! Football shape is alot different than basketball shape. Ask any person that plays both and they will agree.

Gallatin Co 76 Walton-Verona 71
Why do they not have it together now? Walton-Verona has a very solid team. I realize that Gallatin will get better before the next match between the two, but so will Walton. I am sure the rematch will be another close one. :thumb:

Gallatin VS Walton
I watched both teams play this summer and I am going to go out on a limb here and choose Walton. Walton plays very physical and run the floor hard. They have very good defense. At the same time, Gallatin can match up with the Bearcats. It will be a close one but I am going to take Walton. Best of luck to both teams!

Trimble Co 66 Carroll 54
This score really suprised me. After watching Carroll against Williamstown, I thought Carroll would not have a problem with Trimble. That only thing Carroll can do is re-focus and get ready for Owen Co. I am confident that Carroll can bounce back from this loss and get a W come Thursday night.

Scott County 82 Gallatin County 36
WOW! Did not expect Gallatin to only score 36! I also didn't expect only 9 points to be the team leader, which was Scott Brown. Scott Co. Is a really, really tough game to open up with.

Carroll Co 81 Williamstown 73
This was the first game of the season, of course teams are not going to look like all-stars. Why spoil a team's win and say they played sloppy when they put up 81 points, young players stepped up in a big way, and had some clutch defensive stops that led to that win? I was present at the game and I saw alot of good things Carroll! :thumb: That Yager kid can light it up and Hendrick is hard to keep off the glass. Besides a few temper flares it was a great game for the Panthers. Also, Congrats to Welch on his return. Good luck tomorrow night Panthers! I will not be able to make it but if you played as intense as you did last night, it will be a long night in Trimble Co.!

Carroll County 58 Walton-Verona 51
WOW! Closer than I thought and what a great game played by Carroll. Im sorry I had to leave at the half, but those first two quarters I seen some great things out of Carroll. That defense will have teams throwing a fit. Great Job Lady Panthers and Good Luck against the Lady Raiders! Good Luck to you too TB&G and Lady Raiders! Hopefully it will be a great game in Bedford!

2007/2008 Carroll Co
This must be Carroll's second game. They host Williamstown on Tuesday night. As for a prediction, I have to wait and see after they play Williamstown.

2007/2008 Carroll Co
This is true. The PG has to be the leader on the basketball court. He has to lead the team and make sure every player is where he needs to be. Without a good PG, no team can run an offense or get the ball up the court.

2007/2008 Carroll Co
Are you speaking of Carroll or CAL?

Henry County Scrimmage
Was North Oldham a very good team? Carroll should be pretty fast having Girdy. The real test will come when Walton-Verona comes to Carrollton. Best of Luck Lady Panthers! :thumb:

Best players in the 8th
You sound pretty confident. I just do not see how Gallatin can be better this year than they were last year. I do realize they have some talent, but the depth of last years team made them the successful team they were. I do not see the Wildcats being near as deep this year as they were last. Gallatin was about 8 or 9 deep and this year I see them as about 6. Including Brown, Carlton, Maddox, Henson, T. Jones, and maybe the sophomore Z. Jones. Other than that I really do not see any players that can compete at the varsity level. Best of luck to Coach Jones and the Wildcats! :thumb:

Prestonsburg at DeSales (2A)
DeSales runs the ball very well. The linebackers are some of the best around. If Prestonsburg throws, that could cause some trouble for DeSales but regardless, I doubt the Blackcats will give DeSales any problem. The Colts move on! DeSales: 35 Prestonsburg: 14

Henry Co. @ Paducah Tilghman (3A) Round 3
No reason to put Trimble down. I believe what Tall Trees was trying to say was that if a 1A school can beat them but a significant amount, a good 3A team like Paducah Tilghman will have no problem at all.
-
Henry Co. @ Paducah Tilghman (3A) Round 3
PT will have no problem at all. Henry's quarterback throws it all over the place and has quite a few interceptions. He is still young however and will be a great player next year. PT will be ready and roll right on to the Final Four. PT: 42 HC: 10

DeSales 24 Christian Academy 14 (2A)
Great Job Colts. That running game is unbelieveable!

Frankfort 57 Trimble Co. 16 (1A)
Congrats to Trimble this season. You boys have fought hard from start to finish. Not many teams could have made it through the adversity you did. Great Job Coach Poynter and Raiders!

Best players in the 8th
I think it is going to be tough losing the players they did. Perkins, Edmondson (sp?), and Davis is alot to replace. I also seen where Gallatin opens up with Scott Co. That is a really tough game to start off with. Why didn't they choose Scott Co. last year over this year. Wasn't last years squad better than this years?

Oldham County
Great Point Guard in Eric Dunlap and Great Forward in Billy Payne. They will be pretty solid this year.
-
Second Round: CAL @ DeSales
The Colts defensive backs better be ready to go in this one. CAL throws the ball all over the field.
-
2007/2008 Carroll Co
I have heard that about 3/4 of CAL's basketball team does play football. That is just hear say though, not sure if this is true or not.
