  1. I was not disagreeing with you. I think the offense is for "backyard football". I was just trying to make a reason for any team to use this type of offense.
  2. I see it as an offense for teams with no lineman and/or blocking abilities.
  3. I think Trimble County is going to run it this year. It should be interesting to see.
  4. I just watched a video on this new offense. It seems as if it would be very easy to stop it. I heard that Trimble County is running the A 11 offense this year also. Is there anyone else in the state that is trying it?
  5. Thoughts and Prayers to the family and friends
  6. Interesting picks Old Man Henry. I find it quite surprising that Gallatin County is ranked #2. I realize that they had two good seasons but the loss of Brown, LeGrand, Nunn, Henson, and now that Maddox is not playing it seems as if all that the Wildcats have returning is Carlton and Florence. I was able to see them at the 7 on 7 tournament at Grant County and Gallatin hardly had anybody there. Nobody really stood out for the Wildcats either which really took me by surprise. Coach Weedman has the numbers up in Carroll County and the Panthers return a few good players too, although the loss of Welch and Rose will hurt. The Panthers still return some solid players and very well could surprise people this season. Trimble County could surprise people this season and finish second in their district. Coach Poynter knows how to get what he wants from the Raiders and they will surprise teams too. Coach Poynter will simply out coach other teams in his district to finish second in the district. I want to wish the Best of Luck to all of the teams this year. I can't wait for the opening week! :thumb: My rankings: 1. Henry County 2. Carroll County 3. Trimble County 4. Gallatin County 5. Owen County 6. Walton Verona 7. Eminence
  7. I heard from a good source that the numbers in Gallatin County are down, is this true? With all of the success Gallatin has had, I do not understand how the numbers would be down.
  8. I have seen them play, not better than Penny but better than Maddox.
  9. That rumor is completely false. I have really good sources that say so. Will is a good kid and the sources say that Will is at Carroll County until he graduates. Nobody is sure where that rumor came from.
  10. Carroll County lost a good duo in the backfield by losing Welch and Rose. I think Coach Weedman will have the Panthers ready come August though. Coach Weedman really knows the game and he is a great motivator. Look for good things from Carroll this coming season! Good Luck Panthers and Coach Weedman/Staff! :thumb:
  11. Gallatin County only lost five players? I thought there were more than five. Does anyone know how many they had in the weightroom this winter?
  12. 1. Lex Cath 1. Central 1. J-town 1. Holmes 1. Hazard 1. Lincoln County 1. Paducah Tilghman 1. Mason County 2. Lex Cath 2. Holmes 2. Hazard 2. Mason County 3. Lex Cath 3. Mason County 5. Mason County TB: 159
  13. Wow. Congrats to this young man. He must have had some impressive numbers this season. Does anyone have any stats?
  14. Having the ball thrown to you has alot to do with it. When you get many oppurtunities it becomes much easier to average double doubles. I have seen him in numerous games miss some easier shots and get his own rebound. This could have somewhat to do with rebounds. I did say that he was a good ball player and that he battled. I would just like to see him utilize his team more so that the Panthers can get some wins next year. Always remember there is no I in TEAM! I wish Chris the best of luck next basketball season and congratulate him on this past season! :thumb:
  15. This kid does battle very hard. However, it is easy to average a double double when you get the ball as much as this player has this year. I am not taking anything away from this young man at all. He has done an excellent job, but there are times when the team could be utilized more. As a former college player, I encourage Chris to keep battling like he has, but also to use his teamates. The players that are at Carroll County now I have followed for three years now. They have alot of talent in the junior and sophomore class. These players must be used to their ability in order to get wins. Good luck in the future Chris and congrats on the stats! I wish you the best! :thumb:
  16. According to my sources from Carrollton, Scotty Ross has moved to Ashland and will not be at the game. Carroll Co. has been playing well as of late. They ran out of gas at Walton and the Bearcats just could not miss. The Panthers have a shot at beating Owen. I think it will be a good game in Owenton. Best of Luck to all the 31st District teams! :thumb:
  17. At Oldham. I do know that Eric Dunlap had 28 for the Colonels. That is the only stats that I really have. Dunlap is IMO the best guard in the region. He is very quick, tremendous passer, shoots very well, and the best dribbler I have seen all year. Oldham Co. played very well tonight.
  18. There is no reason to put other teams down. Every team will fight hard come districts and regionals. Last time I checked, thats why we play tournaments. Records mean nothing come tournament time, look at the New York Giants. Who picked them to play tonight in the superbowl? Nobody knows how far their team will go until after the games are played. Best of Luck to all of these teams on the rest of the season and when they enter the district tournaments! :thumb: Congrats to the Wildcats on reaching the elite eight in the All "A" Tournament also! :thumb:
  19. I think that University Heights will squeak by Painstville. This game will definitely not be a blowout for either team. Scotty Hopson is a very hard player to stop. He can do just about anything out on the court and it is very difficult to match up with him. I will take University Heights by 3. As for the other game, I think Hazard should win this one. Rose Hill is also a very good team with two great players in Euton and Jackson. Hazard is a very strong team and to win this game they must hit free throws and shoot the ball better than last night. I will take Hazard by 7. I believe that the championship game will be between University Heights and Hazard. Best of luck to all four teams today! :thumb:
  20. Gallatin County did not shoot well at all last night. I was surprised that Gallatin County played zone most of the game. Watching the Wildcats before, they mostly played man to man. This was a good showing for the Wildcats and was definitely a tough match up. Hazard is a very good basketball team and even when they do not hit free throws or play as well as they wish, the Bulldogs came away with a victory. That is what good teams do! Good Luck to GC on the rest of the season and good luck to the Bulldogs! :thumb:
