  1. Oh of course Carroll will not be a favorite. Their record has been awful the past two years, but how often does the favorite win it? Look for this years Carroll's squad to be different and if I were Owen or Gallatin I would not look over the Panthers at all. They looked very deep in the scrimmage yesterday and looked pretty good. This just might be Carroll County's year! Best of luck to all teams as the season begins! :thumb:
  2. Has the all-conference team been selected for the NCKC (North Central Kentucky Conference) yet? I have not heard anything and did not know if they have choosen the team yet or not.
  3. The football players will hit the hardwood this upcoming week!
  4. I think had weather permitted, Carroll would have been able to find some success through the air. I do not mean that the outcome would have changed by the passing game but could have helped move the ball. That is what I was meaning by saying the weather effected Carroll's ability to throw.
  5. Exactly! Best of luck to all the teams during playoffs! :thumb:
  6. Not meaning to change your mind, just supporting my decision, just as you are. :thumb:
  7. It is not an excuse for Carroll losing the game. The point was that Carroll passed the ball successfully against Desales and the passing game was limited against Holy Cross due the the weather conditions, as it would be for any team that passes.
  8. That is just one game my friend. You cannot base your decision off of one or two games. Take a look at the big picture.
  9. Desales stats just outnumber Holy Cross. They have five players with over 300 rushing yards, a total of 2428 rushing yards as a team, have scored 316 points, have given up 182 points. Compare those stats to Holy Cross and this one should be an easy choice! The Colts are a very disciplined bunch who play football the right way. They play the game with no attitude and maybe more importantly with class. Coach Sander is one of the best coaches you never hear about.
  10. Here are some facts: Desales: 8-2, losing to a very good Class 5A ball team in Doss. They also lost to Providence, Indiana who made a run in the Indiana state playoffs. They defeated all district teams (Christian Academy of Louisville, Carroll County, and Owen County), beat 4A schools Bullitt East and Fairdale, 5A Waggener, and 6A Southern and 1A school Holy Cross (Louisville) who is also a good team. They have five players with over 300 rushing yards and a total of 2428 rushing yards as a team. They have scored a total of 316 points and have given up only 182. Compared to Holy Cross, the facts are there to have Desales as the undoubtedly winner in this one.
  11. Carroll was able to pass the ball against the DeSales because it was a nice field on a dry night. Today was wet, nasty, and the field was horrible. In those weather conditions it is very hard for a team to pass the ball.
  12. That means nothing at all. DeSales and NCC will meet again in the region championship. DeSales is big, experienced, do everything right, and will just out coach Holy Cross.
  13. DeSales will roll! DeSales is a much much more disciplined team. Holy Corss played well tonight, but Carroll needs to keep their heads up. The senior class is a very good group or guys and they work hard. Congrats to Carroll County's seniors! :thumb:
  14. Well anyone with any football IQ would know that if the safety is close to the linebackers like that, he is playing man and his man is the TE if the opposing team is in the shotgun divide like Dayton ran. Carroll DB's play man very well and have been pretty successful with it throughout the whole year. The defensive coaches do plenty of studying game film. Friday night was just not Carroll's night, but I hope the team uses this game as a wake up call and next week get a win against Holy Cross in the playoffs. Carroll's QB did not play very well against Dayton Friday night. His decision making wasn't there and it looked as if he got flustered. I am sure that he will bounce back this coming week against Holy Cross. Dayton did a good job overall and came ready to play. Carroll needs to keep their heads up and get ready for playoff week. This week it is win or go home. Best of luck to all the teams this playoff week! :thumb:
  15. I would agree with Coldiron. He is a great official. Knollman, not so much.
  16. Tough draw for Henry County. Especially after they shut out a few teams. Very strange they finish last in the district.
