With the tip of the basketball season nearing I thought it would be a great discussion on who some of the better officials in the state and each region are. These guys do a thankless job and NEVER get the respect they deserve, especially the really talented officials.

 

In the 10th region you have to go with: John "J.T." Taylor, Clayton Brooks, Cary Lyle, Bo Queen, Eric Thornsbury, and Gary Wilson @ the top of the list!

The two best refs in the 8th region, I think are Terry Coldiron and Sean Knollman. They a pretty good job all around!

In the 16th IMO the most consistent no matter where the game is played is Bobby Hall.

In the 14th: Benny Campbell and Jack Conway. There are several others that are really good, I just can't think of their names.

I would agree with Coldiron. He is a great official. Knollman, not so much.

Eric Thorsbury is one of the best young officials in the state.

8th region: I like Terry Coldiron, Tim Hendrick, and, I agree, Sean Knollman. There are others that are pretty good or can be, most of the time. I'm sure that I will remember them when football season is over.

In the 12th, Scott Bottoms and Terry Dyehouse are the best.

Terry or Jimmy Dyehouse?

Always liked Cary Lyle, Kevin Walter and John Chamberlain.

Chamberlain was the best, IMO. I always liked MONDO!

My faves are Greenhill, Hall and Wright in the 16th.

In the 13th its gotta be Charlie Kirk!!

I disagree on a couple. But I really don't want to get on here and talk bad about referees. Cary Lyle is very good. He is probably the best I have seen in Central Ky IMO.
