  1. This is good for the Eagles. They can have a good program there if they keep working. Good Luck MSU!
  2. Great Point Guard in Eric Dunlap and Great Forward in Billy Payne. They will be pretty solid this year.
  3. The Colts defensive backs better be ready to go in this one. CAL throws the ball all over the field.
  4. I have heard that about 3/4 of CAL's basketball team does play football. That is just hear say though, not sure if this is true or not.
  5. I trust you will be in Carrollton for the match up as well! :thumb:
  6. I am not 100% on that, but I do know that this is his first year at Owen Co.
  7. I sure am glad Romo bounced back. My fantasy team was about to be hurting big time!
  8. Lunatic1 absolutely had it right when saying that the 8th Region fans are the best! We love our basketball here in the 8th! :ylsuper:
  9. Absolutely. I am sorry to have left Walton-Verona out. They will definitely be a contender. The Bearcats also have two wondeful players I forgot to mention. Heeger and Hargett are both fierce competitors on the court. They are just tremendous ball players. Hargett could be the best player in the NCKC. I believe that in the NCKC it is between Carroll Co. and Walton-Verona. They meet for the first game of the season. I will definitely be making my way to Carrollton for this game! :thumb:
  10. I am not sure on the coach giving up early in the season. I do know that this is the first year for the Owen Co. head coach. I do not know what happened to Coach U. Nobody seems to know when I ask. Can somebody please answer that question for me?
  11. I mean they usually do not stay on the team. If a season is going as bad as Owens did, players usually give up.
  12. I had the opportunity to watch these teams play this summer and last season. I seen alot of potential, especially in Carroll Co. Not just because they were good but beacuse they had alot of young players and I seen alot of heart out on the court. Trimble also showed some pride after losing some great players due to graduation. Who will be the favorite. My vote would go to Carroll Co. I was very impressed with a few girls. These girls include: Girdy (Carroll): Very quick, exciting to watch Miller (Trimble): Showed some good post moves, good rebounder Curry (Carroll): Just a freshman, hustles, great post moves for such a young age Williams (Owen): Very solid post player Jones (Gallatin): Good shooter all around West (Williamstown): Good player overall Wallace (Carroll): Very good shooter from behind the arc, smart with the ball Wilhoit (Williamstown): Compliments West very well
  13. That always seems to be the hard part, learning plays fast is not the easiest thing to do. I think the scrimmage is against CAL. If I am wrong please correct me but it will be a little awkward for the football boys if it is indeed CAL! Good Luck to Carroll Co. as the season gets closer! :thumb:
  14. Congrats to the Owen Co. seniors. I heard there were about 20 of you. That is alot of seniors and when a season goes as bad as the Rebels have, they usually do not stay. Good luck in the future Owen!
  15. I believe Im going to have to go with Manual. I know it seems out of the ordinary but I just have a feeling they are going to win state this year. Good Luck to all the teams as they get close to a state title!
  16. WOW! 11 players is quite alot to be missing from basketball practice to get anything accomplished. I am sure Coach Miller will have the boys ready though. I wish the Panthers the best of luck this year!
  17. This will be a great game. Henry throws the ball all over the place so the North Oldham's defensive backs have to be ready to play. I think they will. NO: 28 HC: 24
  18. Well that is good to hear. I watched him during his Sophomore year and he is one heck of an athlete. He has something that some good athletes that could be great lack, and that is heart. You do not find too many of those kids and Welch is one of them. Best of luck to Welch this coming season and great job on the field. I know the Panthers will miss you and Rose next year.
  19. Im going to have to go with the Colts on this one. DeSales: 35 CAL: 21
  20. Ya know TB&G, I also noticed that in Carroll Co. games I attended. Not once did those young men give up. That is tough to do when you have a record like the Panthers had. It just excites me to know that those boys never gave up on themselves. I wish every team in the state had the heart that Carroll Co. had this year. It would make football so much more entertaining. Once again, Congrats class of '08 and good luck in the furture! :thumb:
  21. As I have sat here and read all of the threads about myself, some of you seem to take me the wrong way. I did not post to put down a team. I simply posted my opinion about the previous match up between Trimble Co. and Gallatin Co. Is that such a bad thing? I did not once say that Trimble was going to win state nor did I say that Gallatin was terrible, I just posted my opinion on the second game between the two. As far as the "Sawville" statement goes, I just do not see the meaning behind it. I would also have to agree with Tha Moss that Harrodsburg and "Hogtown" had a meaning behind it, they were state champs. I do not mean to put GC down, but I just do not see the Wildcats winning a state title in any sport anytime soon. If they happen to win state at something, I will do you a favor and make a sign to put up as you enter Gallatin Co. I might even use the slogan Tha Moss came up with. :thumb: I really do hate to put a team like GC down when they did in fact have a successful year this year, but some users chose to attack me individually. I would also like to clear up any misconceptions some users have against me. I am not a huge Trimble Co. fan, I am in fact a fan of the whole NKY area, especially the 8th Region and I love to talk about sports. But I believe the topic of this thread was Trimble Co./Gallatin Co. Now being that Trimble won, I believe the focus needs to be on Trimble Co./Frankfort. I would hope that all GC fans pull for TC being that they are the underdog, but I know this is not going to happen. But for TB&G and TallTrees, AllAmerican32 is pulling for ya! :thumb: I sure hope you go to the capital and take care of the Panthers! :fight: GO RAIDERS!
  22. What players were on the football team? I know of a couple, but not sure if I missed any.
  23. Seems to me like the GC fans cannot handle a loss to a team that deserved the win. Trimble came into "Sawville" and took care of business. They are the ones moving on to face Frankfort. There is no reason to put a team down that beat yours just because you are a "sore loser". The comments on these threads show how unclassy some fans are. I am disappointed that some fans would say the things they have. Good luck TC!
  24. Im sure Coach Poynter will have them prepared for Frankforts speed and quickness. I hope that the Raiders can pull it out and leave it all out on the field next week! :thumb:
