HCHS did make youthful mistakes and NCC did not capitalize. NCC had a chance to pull away early but didn't. Must be watching the Reds hit with runners in scoring position. NCC pitcher hit with batted ball and knocked out of the game with a 1-0 lead. NCC doesn't always play to win, go figure.

I don't know how he would be eligible. I know his mom use to live in Ft. Thomas, maybe she still does, but wouldn't he still have to sit out? I personally hate to see him change schools, last time I talked to him he had really grown into a nice young man.

Newport Central Catholic has a freshman that's 6'71/2".

Both teams left their starting pitchers in too long, especially this early in the season. The game should have been about 6-2 for NCC.

I always wonder if there is anyone from a school with no chance of winning a state championship with the current system, who if for leaving the current system the way it is. What is wrong with at least two sweet sixteens? you don't have to water it down like football has, but 2 state champs would be great.

As an outsider to CovCath's program, I think it's comical to read any negative posts about Mike Listerman. Not only do you have a good coach, but a great person who is dedicated to your program. He even sent his kids through CovCath. As a formal player of his (not at CovCath), I know how much he cares about his players both on and off the court. You would lose alot more than a coach if he left.

I would think he just likes basketball better. He has a better chance of getting a baseball scholarship however. The kid can run.

I agree and I don't think it effected the outcome, but the refs sure protcted the UK recruit.

Has O'Hara even played any varsity yet? I know I saw him playing JV last year.

Ryan is on baseball scholarship and NKU is loaded at shooting guard. They need big men. With that said though, I still would like to see him play at NKU.

I was reading in the paper this morning that Bellevue has only been to the Regional tournament 2 times in the last 25 years. That's a shame. It got me to somewhat change my thinking on seeding. It's a thrill to play in the Regional tournament and there's really not a very good chance that a small school can even get there, much less win it. Then again why can't we just have 3 divisions.

I agree, the refs certainly weren't any worst than we've seen all year in the 9th Region. I thought they might be kind of old though to be doing such a big game.

I personally was very impressed with Highlands in past games in how unselfish they played. That was not the case in this game. The team stood around while Simpson and McGraw took turns going one on one. McGraw got away with it and had a good game but Simpson forced many shots. You can't do that against a well coached and disciplined CovCath team. Maile was the man in the second half. He really impresses me with his quickness and jumping ability. I thought he was a catcher!!

If they could get some of the football players to play more than one sport they'd be contenders in everything.

I had a feeling Conner might win this one after watching them put a hurting on NewCath in the last week of the season. Congrats Conner, you have a very good team.
