The HCHS Thorobreds down the NCC Thoroughbreds 7-3 in the opening round of the McDonald's Classic to go to 16-3 on the year.

HCHS did make youthful mistakes and NCC did not capitalize. NCC had a chance to pull away early but didn't. Must be watching the Reds hit with runners in scoring position. NCC pitcher hit with batted ball and knocked out of the game with a 1-0 lead. NCC doesn't always play to win, go figure.

Against LCA and the top teams, the youth and inexperience does hurt you. Harrison is loaded with a super class of Sophomores and Freshman and only have 3 or 4 seniors on the team and not many Juniors.

It was a 3-2 game heading into the third inning when pitcher Michael Enzweiler got hit with a ball in the arm while pitching. His reliefer Brian Heinrichs gave up a grand slam and it was 7 to 2. Pabst hit a solo Homerun in the fifth inning to give the thoroughbreds the final run.
