Most of the teams had players missing so it was hard to tell, I know NCC had 3 maybe four potential starters out with baseball still going on. Ryle looked like they had some missing as well. I saw Holmes win a couple games but difficult to really evaluate because they played so many players. They did beat Campbell County pretty good though and CC had most of their players there.

He is going to Transy, I talked to him the other day. NKU is missing the boat on this one, he would be a very good player for them.

That is correct, he cannot pitch again against NCC unless there's a rainout.

It sure seems easier for the inner city schools to get in transfers without a problem from the state. I guess moving from one apartment to another is technically establishing new residency, but then why isn't moving from a house to an apartment establishing residency?

Nichols looked like the best pitcher up here from what I saw, and he went 10 for 10 in the Regional Tournament.I don't know how he hit the rest of the year, but he was the best player in this years tournament.

Unfortunately that's true, but it's almost always their choice.

He absolutely was, but you have to continue to grow to be good in high school. There have been plenty of great 8th grade players that were full grown and dominated grade school that never even played in high school game.

I did say all 4 teams were complaining, but there was one play at home that the Dixie catcher made a nice play on to what I thought was an out at home. The ump called safe, a very important run for CovCath. Maybe he thought he missed the tag, does anyone have any info on the play?

Are you serious, all four teams were complaining about the inconsistant home plate umpires. Microscopic stike zones, especially in game 1. Belt high fastballs were balls.

I saw the book, it was 20-4 but it was all in the second half. The refs were not good, but when are they? The first half the Ice had more fouls. The Ice hit some great shots and the Shining Stars didn't. That happens and they'll be other games. The two boys from Ice were outstanding.

I heard he had 31, 41 and 31 points in the last 3 games of the tournament. I'd say he's was the best player in it this weekend. Very mature for a 15 year old.

Your exactly right, in the old days the coaches would get the field ready to play. Coaches aren't allowed to touch the field today- therefore rained out games.

OK maybe I'm wrong, but if I were coaching, which I'm not, and I had to play Cov Cath, Beechwood and Bellevue this week, I would not pitch my ace against Bellevue.

High school breaking balls don't always break. But the batter thinks it's going to and he gets hit. I can't believe there is too many high school players that would want to get hit on purpose instead of trying to get a hit. It's just not natural.

I'm sure Jones is probably a very good player, I've only seen him play once. But POY with the likes of Maile and Farris. He's not there yet. Remember also that most of the time even when Bellevue plays a top 10 team, they're not facing their ace. Beating or staying close in a game against the 3 or 4 pitcher is alot different than beating their best.

Johnny is a Senior. You could put Mark Kelly in there though, he's hitting over .400.

I saw him play the other day, he has a nice swing, but he is no where near 205 lbs. Maybe 170.

NCC continues to struggle at the plate, only 3 or 4 hits again. Neither team looked very good on defense.

I believe NCC has only lost a couple games this year. They should be up there as one of the favorites.
