I agree, and not only high school. I see these 6'5 players weighing 300 lbs and think there life expectancy can't be more than age 55. I can't imagine having to lose 50 lbs after their playing days are over. I have a tough time losing 10.

I agree, I wonder if the kid was on the academic team and was very good at math if he would be ineligable. What's the difference why you want to switch schools. If the parents are willing to move to that school district, I'd say that they had a very good reason. It is a free country still, right?

It's not football season anymore, the JV season is over. What's so difficult to understand here. The sophomore has never played a varsity down and he certainly won't during the playoffs. I don't understand the problem. Let him go play basketball if he wants to.

What if he's not a JV basketball player, what if he's a varsity starter. What's the big deal of letting one, maybe two kids go to basketball. It's not going to hurt the football team at all, but it sure hurts the basketball team. Why punish the kids, all it does is makes the kid have to make a decision on what sport he wants to play.

Can anyone give any insight on why some schools will not let JV football players go play basketball after their JV season is over. I can understand if the kid is getting to play some varsity, but a kid that never gets in, what's the point. It just hurts the basketball team.

You can't keep kids from graduating. They'll actually be bigger than last year, maybe not as experience inside however, but much stronger than most teams. Mike Keirnan will make sure of that.

May be true for Conner, but Pangallo and Meyer are better off the dribble.

I agree that Ollberding could play a big role and he is willing to do the dirty work by playing great defense and be the enforcer inside. I just hope his back holds out, he's been having some trouble with it recently and is not playing football because of it.

If your a basketball fan, what's the problem with more state games. I don't want 6 divisions however, 3 would be great. Let's face it, there's only a couple small schools that really ever have a chance to even get out of their region, much less win the state.

I've coached for many years and have found that when dealing with kids and their parents the two most important things to remember are, always be fair, and always be honest. Most parents only want their kid to get a fair shot. If a coach does that, I've found that very few parents complain.

I can't imagine Ron coaching the girls, he seemed frustrated coaching the freshman boys last year.

NewCath JV team will be interesting to watch this year. They have a few kids that could develope into really nice players but aren't quite there yet. Some good size but might need someone to step up and make shots. Should be fun to watch them grow.

Brian Gish a senior will give NCC depth at both the point and 2 guard. Has been shooting well and is a hard worker.

NewCath beat Elder in the Semis and lost to Muhlenberg North on a half court shot as time expired in the finals. 13 games in 2 1/2 days, wow!

NewCath was 2-1 yesterday beating Russell and some other county team and losing to a big physical Elder team. Suppose to play 6 games today. The boys just out of baseball will be sucking wind.

A terrible game all the way around. The East was not prepared, the West had 4 cheap shot late hits that the refs only saw 1. The West's head coach runs the score up at the end nearly causing a riot on the last play of the game. If I'm on the East team and have a chance to run the score up on Lloyd this year, well I think I would just have to. Very poor sportsmanship, especially for an all-star game. I really don't understand why and when this game is played anyway. Alot of these kids are going on to play College and they're really not in football shape now. There's a good chance for injury. Very disapointing, very good crowd though.
