Ashland has been approached by numerous schools for home and home series, some with much more prominent recent successes, only to be told that they will either:

A) Only do a two year contract if BOTH games are at Ashland

B) They will only do a one year contract with the game AT Ashland

Pikeville is playing Ashland for the second consecutive season at Putnam this season. Belfry approached Ashland for a Home and Home and had to settle for an Away and Nothing. The Raceland fans also enjoy their annual visit to Putnam which they will open the season off with... despite defeating the Tomcats in two straight season's they will make yet another visit to Putnam.

...and since we are on the topic of teams not playing other teams... after Ashland's rare Home and Home with Pburg wound up featuring a Pburg romp... the Tomcats have blacklisted the Blackcats.

Thanks EKU. I don't blame Ashland for trying but in the long run that is bad policy.

Extremely bad, in poor taste actually and I don't see how they get their schedule filled up year after year. If they don't do home and home do they sometimes end up with 8-10 games at home since some of the district games have to be away?

They have three rivalry games on a rotating basis: Ashland, Boyd County, and Ironton (OH).

Throw in 4-5 district games that rotate.

Now all they have to fill is2 or 3 games.

Looking at their recent past schedules, this doesn't appear to be true. They have played home and homes with Russell, West Portsmouth, and Ironton.

The bottom line is they are Ashland, not Ohio State, and they need to play home and home with teams.

All this aside, I really wish Ashland was a better football team year in and year out. It would make for much more interesting conversations.

Russell and Ironton are traditional rivals... those series have LOOOOOOONG standing roots.

Don't know how true it is, but I have heard many schools will not play Danville; most in the Central KY area. Again, not sure if this is true or not or how their schedule is worked out.

Or if RH had a good football team.
